I don't care where they build their "projects". I hope they build one on every block.

Ugh, heaven forbid. That would be a sad day.

I hope they marry your sisters/daughters and beat the crap out of them if they don't do EXACTLY what their owne....i mean HUSBANDS say.

See this is why someone would call your thinking bigoted (as Non said, though, not necessarily meaning you are one). You link Muslim men to slave owners. You base this off of "every women you have talked to". You generalize from a few cases to all of them in the world. That is wrong, and frankly a stupid thing to do. You say you are stating fact when saying things like the Qu`ran promotes the killing of those in other religions, and promises 72 virgins for those who do so. That, too, is wrong. Yet you never address this directly, besides claiming maybe all of them are pulling one over on us.

My cousin, who I love dearly and see as an older sister because she (and my aunt) lived with us after her father died, married a Muslim man. She has two daughters and a son with him, and is happily married. In fact, her husband insisted that my aunt move in with them, so she could be close to her child and also not burden her younger brother and his family financially anylonger. Not once have I ever heard anything negative, or heard her complain about being abused by the man she married. She in fact has nothing but positive things to say about the way he has treated not only her, but also her mother. But from your perspective Cheesey, this simply cannot be possible because Muslim men abuse women, treat them like trash, acting like barbarians.

Have I heard of Muslim men who beat their wives? Yes. And such men are pathetic assholes. But you cannot sit back and claim because of some cases that all Muslim men are savages towards their female partners.

By the way, you never answered my question. Have you talked to Muslims in their native habitats, or is your experience limited primarily to displaced Muslims who live in poorer socioeconomic conditions? For example, I wasn't terribly surprised to see that Turk slapping his woman, since most Turks in Germany live in substandard conditions. It happens in America all the time, too: abuse is rampant among people of all races, religions, and ethnic groups who endure lower status. It certainly doesn't justify the behavior, but neither is it unexpected.

The Muslim women I've talked to who are guests in America (e.g., students) rave about their lifestyles back home. The Muslim women I observed in the Middle East seemed very happy. The Muslim women I saw in Germany were not nearly so privileged. In Germany, they tend to be immigrants, outsiders, and very frequently, unemployed. It's not surprising that their stories are not as happy as women in better circumstances. I would expect that Muslims native to Germany are much better off, as indeed (for example) popular TV shows that depict such families would seem to indicate.

Hmmm.....found out where the "bigot" comment came from.....Mass.

I'll just shut up and keep my thoughts to myself from now on.
That way i won't be attacked at least.

Eh nobody's perfect, Cheesey. Lord knows I have my own faults. And as nonstopdrivel said, you are a wonderful human being in so many ways. Surely you must know your intolerant mindset towards Muslims (and believers in Evolution, and basically anyone who doesn't hold your own religious beliefs) is going to bother a lot of people.

I apologize for calling you a bigot. Your beliefs toward Muslims, however, are irrational and prejudiced.

Agreed. The 3-4 Muslim women in my graduate department love their lives back home and can't wait to return to their hometowns. Their main complaint, however, is the advanced education programs aren't quite as good as some here in America, if for no other reason they will not pay them nearly as much money to do research as schools will here. Many schools here in America will pay ones tuition, health insurance, and provide an $18,000 / year salary. It could very well be half that in some other countries (even though the cost of living is likely cheaper as well.)

And you wonder why people call you a bigot. I don't think that's the truth but after reading comments like that one could easily be mistaken.

Sorry......i just wonder why people get so pissed off at me for stating factual information, but give murderers a free pass.

"Cheesey" wrote:

I for one haven't been pissed off by reading your factual posts. The one with the a, b, c, d options didn't evoke any kind of emotion, positive or negative from me.

It's when you base your arguments on false statements. 72 virgins, Qu'ran justifies killing, every Muslim disrespects his wife etc.

Yeah.....getting pissed off at me will stop the bombings.
Yup.....sure will.
I should have known when i entered this thread that it was a bait to see who would be stupid enough to say anything not politically correct. You got me! I'm the dumb one! I should have known it was a trap. Shows you how stupid i really am.
And they wonder......ah.....screw it.

"Cheesey" wrote:

I'm not really pissed off at you, the person. I'm pissed off with the way you articulate your points. Political correctness my ass, no one here has based their responses to your posts in a politically correct manner, so that's an excuse.

And yes, to keep posting on this thread is kind of useless since we keep saying the same shit over and over again.

For once though, I'd like you to pick a post in this thread apart point-by-point, to see you respond to what others are saying.

Summary: I'm wrong, everyone else is right.
I'm sorry if i upset anyone. Didn't mean to.
I guess i must be alot dumber then i thought i was. Lord knows i don't know everything. Never claimed i did.
I'm SURE there are plenty of good Muslims. I never said or meant to say all of them are awful people. I only had the ones i know to base my opinions on. I guess that was wrong to do.
Again, sorry.
