give him a break.

Why?

"beast" wrote:

Because clearly he has been hurting himself, he has cut marks all over his wrists. I mean he loves to be hurt and out of shape. Watch before the year is over he'll jump in front of speeding semi instead of trying to stay healthy and play football. He hasn't spend a day in rehab trying to come back... he's trying to get cut but the coaches and fan just keep moving him back in... he's clearly the laziest and the guy who want this job the least...

Now.. there is a huge difference between Pickett and Harrell.. one has established himself as a player able to play and stay healthy in this league.. one hasn't.

My simple point is Harrell should be out working every other soul if he was a hungry player itching to play ball after multiple disappointing seasons.. McGinn's article doesn't shade him as such a player.

Yeah but my point was all of the heavy DL guys have come in out of shape at times.

McGinn past articles have also shaded Thompson as one of the worse GM ever and Favre the god of football...

Anyone who thinks the worst heat Wisconsin has to offer is "stifling" clearly hasn't been to Georgia in July, as I was for a few weeks this year (without air conditioning, I might add).

Thank you ! I am coaching again this year at the High School level. We started practice Aug 1... in the afternoons and in the Georgia and in full pads.
You know what happens when they whine and cry..up downs and laps.
Harrell played in Tennessee folks he knows about heat ..this is about my big behind doesn't wanna work. Rant over.

PS The anti-TT stuff is pure crap. Every time someone makes a critical remake about a player it does not make them anti anything.

This is a case where my expectations probably don't meet the majorities opinion I guess... my expectations were not him coming in and lifting the team up... my expectations for Justin was a player that came in and out worked everyone because he has been robbed of a couple of year of football.. a hungry football player.

And reading anything contrary is disappointing.. greatly.

That was funny.

And no, NSD. I don't hate TT. I want him to succeed as he's our man, even if one doesn't like his haircut.

I do want Harrell to succeed but I also don't want someone with potential knocked off our 53 man roster if Harrell won't get onto the field.

We need 53 people who can play the game.

He's obviously not dogging it too much when the Packers have him in 2nd string on the depth chart. If he was as bad as McGinn makes him sound in that article there is no reason to believe he should be ahead of any of the other guys at that spot.

Go find them your self. But for a while it seemed like the GB writers seriously dislike/hated Thompson. Probably because he keeps his mouth shut unless Sherman making their jobs harder and he traded Favre who would usually talk with them and give them great lines to make their jobs easier.

He's the 4th DL which on a 3-4 team is the first 2nd string guy

But I've had the nagging feeling for the past few years that the front office of this team is often so focused on rescuing their projects that they fail to keep an eye out for talent. I know that's an unjust thing for me to say, but I find it extremely hard to believe that there's no one out there who could contribute more than Harrell, Jackson, or Bigby.

"Nonstopdrivel" wrote:

I haven't had that feeling at all. Harrell has been injured a lot, and the Packers would've gained no money by cutting him. I don't see any harm in giving him a chance to prove himself in training camp this year.

Jackson is a second-round pick who has not lived up to expectations but has done a good job as a role player. I don't think it's easy to find a better player than him on the waiver wire, and if you get one in a trade, you will have to give up something substantial.

I'm not sure who you think should've replaced Bigby. High quality starting safeties don't grown on trees. Of course, we're into pure guesswork at this point, because there's no way I can prove that there wasn't a better player out there somewhere, and it's hard for you to prove that there WAS someone better.

Looking at the big picture, it seems to me that this front office is doing a very good job. The team did well last year and is still young and appears to be on the rise. I think it's a little too easy to point out an underachieving player and say, "They should have gotten someone better than that guy."
