I used to like Ted, but I have grown to despise him... Naw, just kidding. I never had a problem with him and have always like his big picture, dynastic approach. Kind of a blend of the Steelers and Jimmy Johnson's cowboys.

I don't watch him for entertainment. That is what I have you guys for.

I don't give a rip about his personality either way because we are not winning or losing games because or in-spite of it. It is a total non factor for me.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Dodd - Why single out Brad Jones?

Because the Packers defense need to generate a pass rush from someone other than Clay Matthews, and seeing as how Jones is designated as the OLB opposite Clay, we are hoping Jones can perform @ a high level.

I read recently that Chillar is being moved to OLB while Jones is injured which could lead to more playing time for Bishop @ ILB

Nice little read RP and I wouldn't expect anything different from you. You have always been a Ted Thompson backer, but I am still a basher as my avatar shows. I still don't think he can give us the guy to put us over the top.

One opportunity he misseed is not pulling the trigger on the Moss trade. Had we had Moss I see no way the Giants would have beaten us. It would have opened up our running and short passing game. I believe it cost us a Lombardi Trophy. Hopefully he learned from that.

The Raiders did not give the Packers an opportunity to match or sweeten the Patriots offer, therefore the Packers had no chance.

The Packers made an offer, the Raiders were considering it, then the Patriots came in with a better offer and the Raiders had to take it or leave it. They could have risked the Packers backing out, then the Patriots retracking their offer and being stuck with Moss then having to cut him.

The Raiders simply got a better offer and didn't want to mess around and took it right away.

And Moss would not have made a difference. Our WR were hardly the problem in '07.

The Patriots got him for a 4th round , we could have done the same thing. Oakland would have taken our trade because it was a higher pick. Favre wanted Moss, Moss was willing to play in GB because of Favre. Favre has allluded to his being disappointed that trade wasn't made. All we were risking, player wise, was a 4th pick, that's a good reward to risk ratio. Moss was no problem in Oakland other than saying he wanted to be traded, pretty understandable. If he did become a problem here, boot him, so we lose a number 4 pick.

Moss was willing to play in GB

Willing, yes. Of course he was. There weren't all that many teams in the market for him, and he wanted to play somewhere. Based on snide comments he made after the trade went down, however, I don't get the impression he was all that eager to play in Green Bay, Favre or no Favre. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he had discussions with Green Bay mainly to drive up bidding for his services. He ended up in New England, which is, I'm guessing, exactly where he wanted to go in the first place. Playing in New England offered him the chance to return to the superstar status he had experienced in Minnesota, which wasn't as likely to happen in Green Bay.

I don't think our failure to acquire him had any substantive effect on our season.

Hardly the problem, yes.

But Moss still would've made the team better. As good as Jennings and Driver were, what about Moss, Jennings, and then Driver?

Not to mention the defense was making plays left and right.

Put Moss on the 2007 Packers, and I'm sure the Patriots would not have gone undefeated, and Tom Brady wouldn't throw 50 TD's. In fact, Favre probably wouldn't have finished 2nd in MVP voting and a 2nd Super Bowl ring.

I know anything can happen in the NFL, but I'm 100% positive that would be the result. Favre + Moss would generate more NFL hype than Brady + Moss.

beast (14h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (14h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
