You PM me. I have a subarachnoid cyst taking up more than half my brain.

I know (personally) the best surgeons on this planet.

You forget to duck you learn these things, lol... seriously, this is a no-shitter---

No kidding. (my shit went septic in a "lesser hospital"- you gotta hear me)
My stint/shunt went bad...the infection went from my abdomen to my neck...got yanked w/o anesthetic---too sick for a general...

You go see Arthur Kobrine at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

If ANYTHING goes wrong...He will fix it.... He is the BEST neurosurgeon our country can produce, and a friend.

I will stake my life on this. ( He is the doc that saved President Reagan and Brady, btw.)

I already have... no shit.

Mia is recovering pretty well. She had a little setback with a seizure, but they did a quit catscan and there were no bleeds. Everytime they move her, she gets pissed off at them, which tells me she has a lot of fight left. They have her heavily sedated right now and she is on some seizure medicines.

To tell you the truth, I'm more worried about Julie than Mia. She does not handle things like this productively. I keep telling her that Mia can feel her negativity and that she needs to keep positive and quit crying so much.

These last nine days have been excruciating for us. I have come to the conclusion that I do not control anything in this world, and I am at the mercy of God in this situation. This has humbled me more than anything else ever has.

I appreciate all the love sent our way from all of you. In about ten days they will blast away at any remaining cancer cells and with any luck Mia can resume her life.

Which brings me to a Cheesey favor. Are you up for cutting off about six inches of hair for the wig we're going to need? I'll let you know, but I think she'll have plenty of little friends at school lining up to donate. The daycare she goes to in the summer had a hair dying day in her honor, which was pretty cool.

Again thanks for all the love. I'll keep you posted. I feel a lot of relief today, even though Mia has more battles ahead.

More good news today! The MRI came back with no evidence of residual tumor, meaning they got it all. We'll meet with the Oncologist probably Monday and he will recommend what follow up treatments will be necessary. The fluids in her head are back to normal levels, which means the pressure has been relieved. She should start feeling much better tomorrow and they are talking about moving her out of ICU and into a regular room. She wants all those tubes out of her and I can't say I blame her.

Thats GREAT news!
Kids are pretty darn strong. And it sounds like, from what you have said, she's got some fiestiness (sp?) in her!
Give her a hug from me!
(I know she doesn't know me, but it will have you pass some of my "fight" into her!)
