What will are starting Oline look like?
I think there will be competition at LG
But heres my possible Starting lineup

LT:1.Chad Clifton
2.Brain Bulaga
We will be good at LT If clifton goes down we got a solid first round pick.I see Clifton starting Still they resigned him for a reason right?
LG: 1.Daryn Colledge/Marshell Newhouse
I see this as a postion battle because Colledge hasnt been great the past two years and we need to get bigger at guard Newhouse looks good so he might push for the starting job.
C:1.Jason Spitz
2.Scott Wells
Maybe a battle for the start but its unlikely but we still got some good depth here if Spitz is heathy.
RG:1.Josh Sittion
2.Allen Barbre
Barbre was just horrible as a T hes prob most likely better at guard.Josh sittion is becoming a better guard in the league and hes had a good offseason so he"ll be better this season. He was the best olineman out of this group last year in my eyes.

RT:1.Mark Tausher
2.TJ Lang
3.Breno Giacomini
Finally we have some great depth at both T spots Tausher will be fresh at the beginning of the season and if he goes down we got a solid backup in Lang.In my eyes lang was one of are best lineman last year he really helped us out. When he started last year against the browns at LT are team allowed 0 sacks that game so hes pretty good.

Overall I think are oline has improved from last year greatly it obviously wont be elite but it will definitely be improved i give this oline group a B
give me some thoughts on wat u guys think too.

I don't like seeing Wells not playing. I want him on the field.

Put Colledge backing up Spitz, Spitz at LG, Wells at C and I'll be happy with the rest.

I see the OL line up as

LT: Clifton, Bulaga
LG: Colledge, Spitz, Barbre
C: Wells, Spitz, Dietrich-Smith
RG: Sitton, Lang
RT: Tausher, Lang, Giacomini

I'm not sure I see rookies being able to get in their other than Bulaga...

Also I'm worried about Spitz, back injuries can take a couple of years to come back from... some you can't come back from...

And I know some are hating on College but when he settles in the kid can seriously play like he did in 08 and the second half of last year.

Clifton....Spitz.....Wells.....Sitton......Tauscher, lock these guys in, they are the starters, let them work together through the pre-season, none of this "let's shuffle some of these guys around and see what happens"

You're starting O-line has to know they are the five guys who are going to be there every week.

Competition is good for a team, but let the young guys battle it out for back-up spots, with Clifton and Tauscher there is a pretty good chance that someone is going to have to fill in at some point.
IMHO The Packers now have a solid 5 man starting group and some pretty good back-ups.

But again, the starting 5 need to know they are the guys from day 1.

If you're looking for stability, I'm not sure I'd include Spitz in the starting lineup. He just had the same back surgery that Justin Harrell had. My thoughts are pretty much in line with Beast's lineup above.

I figured that this would be a thread full of variation of Clifton - Colledge/Spitz - Spitz/Wells - Sitton - Tauscher.

I'll throw a curveball out there. At least for the reserves.

LT - Chad Clifton (Marshall Newhouse)
LG - TJ Lang (Daryn Colledge)
C - Jason Spitz (Scott Wells)
G - Josh Sitton (Evan Dietrich-Smith)
T - Mark Tauscher (Bryan Bulaga)

The odds of this line happening are very slim, but from what I've seen, Bulaga's best position might just be RT, not LT. Newhouse is sickly athletic. If you groom him two years, you might just have yourself a LT.

That frees up TJ to play guard, instead of saving him as Tauscher's replacement.

Giacomini finally gets cut and Evan Dietrich-Smith makes the roster again.

Like I said, it's quite out there.

It's going to probably be

LT Clifton LG Spitz C Wells RG Sitton RT Tauscher

I want it to look like

LT Clifton LG Lang C Spitz RG Sitton RT Tauscher

I had a brief discussion about this in a different thread with someone. I don't dislike the top line, but I don't want the average to get in the way of the good. Plus, I think Lang has got to get on the field and I think he's a natural left guard.

I think the interior line would see a huge upgrade and definitely be more nasty with a Lang/Spitz/Sitton combo. I want to get bigger. Clifton and Tauscher won't last the season. They'll miss some starts, but that's why you draft Bulaga. You make him your swing backup tackle and work him in the lineup at both left and right tackle.

I like buckeye's lineup best, and I think it is the most likely one as long as Spitz's back holds up through training camp. I think Wells earned the starting center spot last year, and the coaches will not want to mess with success at that position.

Porky's idea of putting Lang at left guard is interesting, but I think he is more valuable at right tackle, especially considering that our only other backups at that position right now are Barbe and Giacomini, who are both horrible.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
