well my prediction for #1 qb this year is Brady, he gets the NFC North that will boost his stats to be huge lol and throw in the Bills and Dolphins twice and to top it off the Brownies. I see a huge huge year.

He did very well against the Bills and Dolphins last season.

94 of 142 66%

Great stats minus the ints. Didn't most of those come in one game against the Bills?

I think Rodgers has been listed as the number one quarterback for fantasy in every league I've seen, not just Yahoo. Of course that's only because of that conspiracy theory we've uncovered whereby Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy sacrifice everything--even winning--to ensure Rodgers has great stats.

I agree we're more likely to see him thrown in the mix at the top. He's now a year removed from that ACL injury and the one biggest concern I had for his stats has been cut down with Welker returning to practice this early.

Here are my stat projections for Rodgers. I'm doing stat projections for the fantasy site I write at....

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
4213 passing yards
33 touchdowns (4 rushing)
13 turnovers (3 fumbles)
268 rushing yards

Now here's my numbers for Drew Brees, who would be No. 1 if I just took into account the passing numbers.

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
4647 passing yards
32 touchdowns (1 rushing)
18 turnovers (4 fumbles)
29 rushing yards

As you can see Rodgers gets a huge boost due to the fact he is a runner and Brees isn't.

Rodgers earns 50.8 fantasy points with his legs. Brees earns 8.9 with his legs.

That's 41.9 difference, which is enough to make up for the difference in their passing numbers.

Brees holds about a 19 point advantage when just taking the passing numbers into account.

In the end, Rodgers holds about a 23 point advantage thanks to his legs.

Officially I have it at

Rodgers 367.32 points
Brees 344.78 points

Those are my No. 1 and No. 2 so now you know who will be my top two QBs when we have our yearly fantasy draft 🙂

As said before, the reason Rodgers is the top fantasy QB is his rushing skills. He's a top 5 QB stats wise, but the last 2 years he has been the top rushing QB in the league. Until Brady can run for 400 yards and 4 TDs, he's going to have trouble keeping up with Rodgers, he could have another 50 TD season, but i happen to think its more likely that he doesn't do that than it is he does. Brees has been playing far and away better than any QB in the league, but Rodgers still manages to score more fantasy points.

2007 was a statistical anomaly for Brady, he has never been a big "stats guy" and infact 2007 is the only time he ever has throw for over 30 TDs in a season, let alone anything close to 50. Rodgers as a starter has averaged 33.5 TDs, outside of Brady's freak 2007 season, the most TDs he's scored in a season is 29(2009 and 2002). All the stars aligned for him in 2007, with Welker and Moss having career years, its hard to imagine that even if healthy, having an older more disgruntled and lethargic Moss, and Welker coming off a serious injury means he'll be able to replicate that sort of season. Now, its not crazy to think he could throw for 35-38 TDs, and that probably enough to lead the league in fantasy points, but honestly i just dont see it happening.

Yeah, most standard fantasy leagues give a bounty to players who put up good rushing stats, and that's why running backs are so valuable.

So since Aaron Rodgers is a double-threat, he's the odds-on favorite to be the best Fantasy QB.

Whoever grabs Rodgs in there draft try picking up Finley 2. You'll rack up major points, I'm sure Finley is going to be the go to guy in the red zone.

Martha Careful (16h) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (16h) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Rude!
beast (20h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
