I don't get how soooo many people in this country can label a man by being democrat or republican and then demonize the person if he should belong to the opposite party. I'm not a democrat, but I pull for our current president to do a good job and make difficult decisions without the influence of PACs and party contributors. The presidency must be an awesomely demanding job, and whoever should be in office deserves our respect and prayers. Maybe we ought to give the guy an honest chance, after all, he has one hell of mess to clean up.

... he might have a awful mess to clean up but he wanted the position eg to be the most 'powerful' man in the world. So ya I expect him to do his job well.

eg be like if someone got married to a woman with a disability and we were to say oh he has to take care of her ... <<< not like he didnt know she was disabled when he married her etc ...

Is Obama really UnAmerican, or he just an American who sees the country differently than the Born on the 4th of July, Chevrolet, and Apple Pie America that we all grew up in?

Obama is a minority and with that comes a much different perspective on the problems of America. And I for one am not qualified to judge him on this because I don't know what it is like to be a minority.

This is, with all due respect to some great posts made by great posters, by far the best thing I have read on these boards (especially in regard to politics).

Brilliant.

+2.

By the way, I'm wondering how many here have actually read Obama's works in full? I'm not talking about snippets, but actually an entire un-edited piece of academic writing by him.

Dude is a deep critical thinker. Which, in all honesty, is more than you can say for some of the staunch anti-Obama crowd on here, who unquestionably consume and reproduce Fox News' discourses (diatribes, really) about Obama.

On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago - missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.

So he's bad because he speaks at a different cemetery? Because he's in Chicago, rather than in Texas, he's un-American? Do you live in Houston, wear cowboy boots, drive around in a Hummer and shoot at gays, Dhazer?

ROCK. Arlington is in Texas. And it is the home of the Texas Rangers...

But, er, however... They were talking about Arlington National Cemetery The Holy Grail of military Cemetery's and it is in Washington. Not Texas.

Whoops.

I get that feeling more often, though. Like being that kid who rambles on and on, but no one has the heart to stop him because he just doesn't know better.

Point still stands, without the whole Dhazer rant.

I caught that RP but i let him slide because he is from down under lol. But its not that holy to some as they stated its just another military cemetery :(

"dhazer" wrote:

I never stated Arlington is lesser.. it just happens that Obama's family is located in Chicago.. yet the man is still honoring the military at another location.. and Biden will be at Arlington..

That is more than Bush Sr.. but I notice how you just kind of skirted that post without so much as a word. Talk about a lack of consistency.. lol.

Making broad generalizations like this actually puts you in the exact same category as the people you criticize.

I had my opinions on liberalism before I knew what being a liberal was. I didn't then, or now, need Fox News to justify my beliefs. Just FYI.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.......shouldn't the leader of the United States talk up the country?
Shouldn't one of his #1 concerns be the protection of AMERICAN CITIZENS? Like, say, our borders??? I heard him talk when he was with the Mexican president. The way he talked about Arizona, like they were doing something wrong, made me want to throw up.
Obama is more concerned about his image with other countries then he is with doing the right thing. He wants to be "PC". I'm sorry, but there is a time to stand up and say things that might piss off others, if it means protecting US!
Yeah, he's a good "speaker" (when then words are written for him). I heard him the other day, and once he got off his "speech" and answered questions, he said he had important "stuff" to do. When questioned further, all he said was "you know, STUFF".
The reason people label others is for a pretty good reason. As the old saying goes, if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. If you see all that Obama does, he's a liberal. Funny thing is, i don't watch Fox news. Most people probably think i do, but it's VERY rare that i do. I don't avoid it on purpose, i just usually watch the local news.
I judge each on a individual basis. And what i have seen of the current president, i don't like or agree with.
I don't WANT him to fail. I wish he would "change" the way he's taking this country. I( wish he would be the best president we ever had. I would LOVE to have him prove me wrong about him. Because that would mean that the COUNTRY would be flourishing, and that is a hell of alot more important then me being right.

I think the Senator of Arizona is John McCain and he was the opponent for president ... that might play a role in Obama speaking down about Arizona. Kind of like, can't operate his state well, how is he supposed to operate the country?
