With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so.

In 16 months at the White House, the Obamas have been back home just once - in February of 2009. But they plan to make the trip over Memorial Day weekend, an official said. After arriving on Thursday night, they will visit with friends and participate in private events.

On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago - missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.

Vice President Biden and his wife will appear in Obama's place, laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as well as holding a breakfast for Gold Star families -- families whose loved ones died in military service -- at the White House earlier that day.

After Bush, I'm not sure how some can be against Obama.

Ignorance ... gotta love it.

what good has he done? The medical bill that at last count has 40 states amending it? Brought home troops and sent them out again? Doesn't put his hand on his heart during the national anthem, and now skips honoring the troops.

So I ask what has he done so far?

I know Packers far more than I know politics and even when I prove my point thoroughly you fail to admit it.

I sure as hell won't be able to with politics, lol.

I'm sorry. Actually not really, but how does Obama going home for only the second time since he's taken office make him unamerican?

This type of bullshit rhetoric (and that's what it is) is ridiculous. The fact is if you don't agree with his policies then fine, but don't stoop to such low life accusations about people's loyalty to the country they live in. Labeling Obama unamerican and all that birth crap isn't any different than the nuts that believe G.W. Bush and Dick Cheny were responsible for 911. Call him out on his policies, which you don't agree with, suchas health care, the response to the spill, and so on. There is enough to look at right now, but don't tell me he's an unamerican.

Very poor argument, Zero. Come on, you could do better than that.

It's kind of like saying that your first girlfriend was physically abusive. Your next one is emotionally abusive, but why complain because at least she doesn't beat you.

The fact that GWB was perhaps the worst President of our lifetime doesn't give Obama a free pass to also suck.

So he's bad because he speaks at a different cemetery? Because he's in Chicago, rather than in Texas, he's un-American? Do you live in Houston, wear cowboy boots, drive around in a Hummer and shoot at gays, Dhazer?

No one is giving anyone a free pass nor applying anything of the such.

It's the people who can't accept that one person can NOT please EVERY person in the Country that annoy me. We have over 300 million people in the US. No shit he's not going to please everyone or make decisions that everyone is going to like. It's our right to whine about it sure, but why be such a dickhead about it? Because a few things he does he's unamerican or he's a loser or he sucks? Who the fuck made this only YOUR country. Fuck you! Its OUR country and he needs to do what is best for ALL OF US. Not just you, ya fucking pissant fuck! Don't anyone get their britches in a bunch, its not aimed directly at anyone, unless you fall into that category and only YOU know if you do.

Is Obama gonna make mistakes, do things wrong, sure is, after all, he's human. I'm more interested in how he improves upon his mistakes than I am of lambasting him for them.

Loyalty and respect is earned, yes, but whatever happened to being respectful to our president? Oh, I know, it got thrown out the window when Billy got his tinkie winkie caught in his interns mouth. Sadly enough, he was one of the better presidents in the last couple decades.
