I agree on this year's FA pool--I prefered signing our own guys (Collins, etc). However, I thought last year (and the year before) there were 1-2 guys who might have been worth pursuing earlier in FA.
If Wolf had the same approach as Ted, we'd never have gotten Reggie White--he would have been long gone to another team. And I don't think we'd have made the Superbowl without him and the other FAs he helped persuade come to GB.
That said, I am MUCH happier with Ted Thompson as GM rather than Sherman, who I thought was destroying our depth trading up in the draft all of the time (then doing silly things like trading up to draft a punter in the 3rd round who wasn't good enough to beat out the camp leg you brought n to give him some rest, then compounding the error by carrying two punters all year because you didn't want to cut your prized draftee).
