I will bet my left testicle that won't happen this year LTF lol. Seeing we have the likes of Baltimore and Pittsburgh in those games.

No offense Dude, but anything to do with your left nut is not appealing (I think I'm speaking for all of us here), and from what I gather you're a young guy who might need it later.

I'm going to be at the Steeler game, so I'm going to have to either wear my Hawk jersey or pony up for a new Rodgers one.

I will be at the Steeler game also 30 yard line 7 rows up behind the packer bench. I am planning on bringing a sign saying hi to Packershome. It will be easy to find me i will be the guy getting beat on lol.

Btw I'm 40 now so i won't need the left one lol.

Dude... my plan is to leave him at the Steelers headquarters two days before the game, loaded up on caffeine and with a megaphone duct taped to his hand. By game day they'll be drastically underestimating the Packers.

BTW folks i wasn't talking about you folks here as homers posting i was referring to the author of the article being a homer and the people that posted on that page. After all we know there is alot of homers here :p

Granted we had a great offensive year last year, but this year our stats will be down and i will bet anyone on that. Before you try calling me out and think with an open mind before posting a homer comment :p

Ok helping you out here, look at the defenses we will play.

total yards per game defensive ranks

1) Pittsburgh - 237
2) Baltimore - 261
6) Minnesota - 292 (twice)
8) Cowboys - 294
9) Bucs - 306
12) Bengals - 325
13 SF - 326

So by those stats i see our offensive production to drop and it is not because of the lack of players it's just who we play against.

"dhazer" wrote:

I will take your bet pending how far down you think they will drop. I'm not sure what there is to bet, but the team will be around where they've been the last two seasons.

Michael Lombardi has never worked for the Packers to my knowledge. In fact he went as far to say in the article that he wasn't sold on Rodgers at all when Rodgers was coming out of the draft. Where does the homer part come from?

Lombardi has worked with Bill Walsh in San Francisco, Bill Belichick in Cleveland, and he was in Oakland as well. Beyond that I'm not sure where the Packer connection is.

The offense is good in Green Bay. You can throw out any kind of stat junk you want, but the fact remains that the same stats your throwing out to make the Packers look worse can be used vice versa with the Packers in mind to make those teams' defenses look worse entering the season.

Green Bay's offense is already on par with the best of the NFC. It doesn't need to be compared to New Orleans. It already is quite similar in a lot of ways. I would take the Saints slightly more, but you don't need to be the Saints offense to be dynamic. GB will once again field a top ten offense overall and top five in the NFC baring injury to Aaron Rodgers.

The problem isn't the offense. It's whether or not the defense can keep up.

And in regards to that, you're comparing it to a NO offense that is fully CLICKING. Last year was Rodgers' FIRST year. In two years, let's revisit this discussion and see what we all think about the comparison. 😉

Green Bay's receivers are better than NO's IMO.

Quick hits-Peppers will pay off  Matt Bowen

Same website, different author. He read Lombardi's article and commented upon it.

The Packers have a ton of weapons on offense, and our own Michael Lombardi is hopping on that bandwagon, but where does receiver James Jones fit in? Reports say that hes bounced back from 2008 when he battled a knee injury that derailed his development last year, but he might have to battle just to get on the field, and that speaks volumes of the depth at WR for the Pack.

The sign of a great passing offense is the number of weapons it has on the outside. We all know that Greg Jennings is, without question, the No. 1 option in Green Bay, and that Donald Driver still has enough gas left in the tank to make plays. But after that, theres no guarantee that Jones will beat out Jordy Nelson when the Packers use their three-wide-receiver sets on offense.

Camp battles are great, and if youre a Packers fan, theyre even better when you have good competition for the No. 3 role.

Maybe Lombardi is on to something, folks.

It might have been someone making a post that said we would match the Saints and Pats but i will double check. But have you heard of this Sutton they are commenting on?

Sutton was all state in Ohio and, I believe, Mr. Football; but at 5'8" was not heavily recruited. He burst on the scene with something like 1800 yds his freshman year at Northwestern. He suffered a couple of injuries and not very good o lines that cost him some games and yards later on. But he was always a dangerous back. He carried the team to some unexpected wins.

The odds are against him but I like to compare him as an offensive Jim Leonard. So who knows . . .

Maybe he is the change-of-pace back that we need. We have a couple "big backs" in Jackson and Grant, now we could use Sutton as the change of pace speed back on 3rd downs or something.

I don't know. I'm sure they could get him in there some how.
