I could almost guarantee that if Ted Thompson was offered the 1st 3 rounds of picks by the Rams just for Rodgers he would jump on it in a heartbeat.

Let's look a little recent history. Which elite QBs were allowed to go to other teams this decade? I can only think of 3 off the top of my head, and two had backups that their teams believed in - San Diego and more recently Green Bay.

I don't think GB has the same amount of confidence in Flynn that it had in Rodgers or the Chargers had in Rivers.

As for the Eagles, what were they thinking?

And I'm pretty sure that Rodgers would net us a little more than Cutler would.

And just for clarification, I still wouldn't trade him.

I was thinking of Cutler, but then I thought "would I really rate Cutler as elite?" Then I said to myself "no."

Good, yes. Very good, yes. Elite? No.

Hmmm interesting you say that. I wonder if anyone knows that in Cutlers 2nd year as a starter and 3rd year in the league threw for 4526 and then was traded to the Bears. And Rodgers in his 2nd year and 5th year on the league threw for 4434 yards. Interesting stats there granted Rodgers had more tds but also had better wrs. So I'm wondering what makes Rodgers so much better I would say Cutler has more upside seeing he is a year younger lol. I still believe in Cutler if he ever gets some type of help.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Oh, don't get me wrong. Cutler is still a great QB. They just have to get him an O-line and some receivers and he'll be really dangerous.

Facts remains, you pull out the one single stats in which Cutler was superior to Rodgers. And when you look at the amount of times that Cutler threw it and the average per throw, Rodgers beats him.

Cutler threw 616 times for 4526 yards, resulting in a 7.3 average. He threw 25 TDs to 18 ints, resulting in a 1.39 TD to int ratio.

Rodgers threw 541 times for 4434 yards, resulting in an 8.2 average. He threw 30 TDs and 7 ints, resulting in a 4.29 TD to int ratio.

And I agree. Rodgers has the better receiving core. That said, Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal is a very good one-two punch, although they lacked some depth.

Cutler did have one of the best OTs protecting his blindside, though, in Clady. The rest of his O-line was a lot better than what the Packers fielded, as well.

Perhaps the fact that he was the best in the NFL in INT's with a bad o-line where Cutler was the 2nd worst with one of the better o-lines (and still had decent WR's with probably a better #1 in Marshall)

What's interesting is that out of probably about 10+ QB stats you could have pulled you used the only 1 that Cutler was higher in to try and say he was better. lol

I'm not saying he is better but the stat actually took me by surprise because the Broncos under Mike was usually a run first team. The main thing is Rodgers got to sit for a few years which I believe helped him greatly instead of being thrown into the fire.

I would have hated to see what Rodgers would be like now if he was thrown into the fire right away the year after he was drafted, I don't think he would be that good right now.

One thing that you need to consider with the Cutler trade is that he was basically being a disgruntled crybaby that denver NEEDED to move, and stillllll got 2 1sts and a 3rd for him. Prying loose a pro-bowl QB entering his prime with no character issues, heck the guy is pretty much a model of saying and doing the right things his entire career, i think is a vastly different situation.

But yeah, 2 1sts and a 3rd for a player similar to Rodgers in talent, becoming a major distraction and potential cancer to the team.

As far as comparing Cutler to Rodgers, i actually think Cutler has more talent, but is a lot dumber than Rodgers. I view Rodgers as one of the smartest QB's in the game, and all you need to do is look at that TD to INT ratio to see why.

Well thats high praise seeing he wasn't smart enough to throw the ball away to prevent sacks. He is good but settle down cowboy he has flaws to go with the good things.
