It is really more than a First, Second, and Third. I was talking about THIS YEAR. The First overall pick, the 33rd, basically a first, and the first pick in the THIRD round.

This is a very deep draft. Draft Bradford... and go from there..

Well, I guess I did not make the trade sweet enough, but I like the feed back.

Personally I would not trade him for four first rounders.

I would trade Aaron Rodgers for 5 first rounders. :cyclopsani:

I wouldn't even trade Rodgers for Manning or Brady. There are no amount of draft picks I would take. We are set at QB for another decade. If Uncle Ted did trade him, I would join Dhazer, DHPackr, and DD80 on the Uncle Ted negativity train.

Where's Dhazer, anyway? He should be here, telling us that Rodgers is just a two year starter and that he isn't worth more than a 2nd. We should take off the green glasses.

I can't think of a single player that I'd rather have on the roster than Rodgers right now. His combination of age, potential and how good he is already makes him, in my eyes, the nr. 1 pick overall if you'd redistribute all players.

Now if Flynn was as good as some scouts believed he would be with a year or two of grooming, he'd be near Rodgers' level or even over that. I find that hard to believe, but if that was the case, I'd trade Rodgers right now, netting a first round pick or 3 (Both 49ers picks this year and maybe one next year, for instance) and we'd be the SB favorites, after adding 3 instant impact guys in the 1st.

I know, wishfull thinking, but that'd be great.

Just not available, plain and simple. Even for the John Hadl trade.
The dude is EXTRA motivated to win at least TWO superbowls. Not only does he have the skill and aptitude. But he's got that extra motivation, you know?
Even if we drafted a guy and developed him through MM's QB school, the new guy wouldn't have that extra little burning desire. That's the ultimate intangible.

Good question to start a thread.

I think in this draft alone it would have to take a team's entire draft to get me interested and I probably wouldn't take it, although it would make for a fun draft weekend :-)

If we had the #1 pick we would be able to draft Bradford who may one day be good enough to be a franchise QB. But the contract would be brutal.

I'd be happy for us to get maximum value and trade Rodgers in his 30s, after a couple of SB wins as long as we have a guy waiting in the wings (like Rodgers was).

Amazing to think we drafted a guy 24th overall who many of us wouldn't trade for 3 first round picks.

Just shows how important it is to grab the talent that falls to you on draft day.

3 firsts + a proven starting level QB(someone like Jason Campbell or better) to even start the conversation.

Already, the Big Ben trade rumors start

Per John Fedko of WPXI-TV, the local NBC affiliate, one of the rumors features the Rams trading the No. 1 overall pick and next year's first-rounder to the Steelers for Roethlisberger.

NOTE: I'd have to think he'd be worth more than Roethlisberger. Big Ben's won the big game, but he's older and uh, has some problems right now.

you have to be kidding me. yeah, this guy won 2 super bowl, but he did it because of a formerly good ground attack and a heck of a defense. trent dilfer won one, too.

don't get me wrong, roethlisberger is a good qb, but he's not more than at the end of top 10 in the nfl. this guy just does not lose games, but he can not win it either for the most part. if a first overall and a future first is the price for big ben, i would not trade aaron for 10 firsts.

To answer your question Yes I would trade Rodgers, You maybe giving up a very good qb but then again if you don't think the trade would be worth it you need to take off the homer glasses.

Think about it your giving up a very good qb but he can be replaced and majorly improve your team. Think of it we would have what 4 picks in the first 46? Also you package the 3rd and our 4th and get back into the 2nd round. You basically could get 5 starters for one player. Now anyone that wouldn't be willing to do that I think would be foolish.

Trade the #1 overall to someone that wants Bradford and collect maybe a 1st and 2nd and then you get even more value.

But thats just me remember one guy don't make a team and if I could get 4 or 5 young starters I would do it.

I'm not knocking Rodgers because yes I think he is a very good qb but hell If I had to make that call I would accept it faster than a girl losing her prom dress on prom night and before they could change their minds.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
