wow. directly from my vikings fan husband...they need to bench him. on almost every throw he makes, the WR's have to come back to the ball. i don't know what the hell's going on but that team is a hot mess.

my personal opinion, i'm thinkin t-jack can hand off the ball as well as favre & for a whole lot less $$!!

I'm sorry but can your Vikings fan husband sign up on the forum.

Which game was he watching? What do you want him to do, Harvin was even injured for part of the game and his #2 receiver was Greg Lewis. I get it people hate Favre but he wants to bench him for T-Jack?!

the 1st int? he threw BEHIND the wr at the goal line was tipped and kicked and picked off.

I'm sorry but the first INT was entirely Harvin's fault. It hit him RIGHT in the hands, directly in the hands. You can watch it here:

I agree Favre sucked and was a HUGE reason for the loss but you cannot pin the first INT on Favre (I'm not saying you are doing that). If a ball hits you directly in the hands, you catch it.

Nope the Favre fans are saying it was Peterson being stopped on 4th down

and the Wr not coming back for the balls

I hope for their sake that is tongue in check.

3 picks none hurt too much though

I don't feel like Favre cost them the game given how his two bad turnovers didn't hurt them

I watched the game in fast forward for a lot of it but which INT was a TD?

And I don't get why you always take the views of a few people and say "Favre fans say this or that". Every group of fans, whether it be baseball, basketball, football or whatever has irrational fans, you can't take their views at face value. For example, some people on here wanted Favre to get injured last year by the Packers, I don't think its fair if people go around and say "Packers fans want FAvre injured and hurt" because most of us didn't say that, it was only a few that felt that way.

so redsox, you think favre is playing well? he's at the top of his game? it's the wr's fault? injuries are causing his throws to go behind the wr's? the coaches aren't calling the right plays? he's not in sync with the wr's cause he hasn't had enuf playing time with them? i'm just wondering if you feel he's culpable in any of these scenarios or is it everyone else making the mistakes? and believe it or not, i'm actually not being a smart ass here - just trying to figure out what you think is the problem.

Fine it was a fumble for a TD...Point remained he fumbled and it was 6 points....And that poster said his turnovers didnt hurt

Are they Favre fans or Packer fans over on OBF?

I say they are Favre fans

Wow never seen anyone get so defensive over Brett that wasnt on OBF

I'm not saying them are Packers fans on OBF - which I've never even visited. I don't know who's on there all I'm saying is that there are a few crazies in every fan group.

No, I don't think that at all, I don't think he's at the top of his game or playing well. I think its a combination of things, he's make some really bad decisions and the WRs do suck. I don't think the throws are that bad to be honest, for a 40 year old guy, he's got zip and distance. I think its bad decisions that have hurt him. Either way, I also think the WR's cannot get open or the play designs are really bad.

You can't tell me that having an injured Harvin and no Rice has some impact on the Vikings pass game. I think Favre sucked against the Dolphins but I dont' think the failure in the pass game is all on him (although a lot of it is on two bad decisions). It takes two to tango and IMO Berrian sucks and Harvin is playing hurt. The only legit passing threat he has is Shanicoe which he has used again and again with success. The Shanico thing shows me that Favre still has "it".

This whole "in sync with receivers" thing is an excuse IMO. Even if Favre was in training camp, Harvin and Rice were injured and Camirillo didn't come in until after Favre came.

Right now I just think the WRs stink and Favre is trying to do too much, he think he's throwing to Rice. That pass with the deep INT was a play last year that probably works (or at worst is incomplete) because Rice is tall. That's on Favre, he needs to realize that Berrian can only do one thing, which is catch the ball when he's wide open.

I just think the reaction to bench Favre based on throwing to a WR corp that had Greg Lewis as the #2 for a while is a bit of an over reaction. They played two good teams, on thats a SB champion on the road. To call for benching and T-Jack at this point is premature IMO. Favre started out slow last year but they played the Browns, I think he had 100 yards passing.

Also I just came across this:

"Were running basically the same plays, Harvin said. Its just sometimes when you have a 6-5 receiver you can just throw it up to him whether hes covered or not, and he can make a play. From that standpoint, we wont be able to fix that or find another receiver to replace him. We just have to come up with different schemes to try and get people open.

If the Vikes are running the same plays as last year and they don't have their 6-5 receiver, they're stupid and they have a lot bigger problems than QB at this point.

Also on the Fumble, I just want to point out that Clay Matthews is going to destroy Favre. That play the Vikings double teamed the Dolphins player. He went right through Shanicoe and Loadholt to get to Favre. They have more issues than just QB and WR on offense.

You're right. Favre hasn't been very sharp, but Sullivan, Herrera and Loadholt haven't been doing a good job on that right side, at all. Next to that, McKinnie has always been more of a run blocker than a modern blindside protector.

Matthews should be able to get past Loadholt. They can't possibly double Clay, as Pickett should be gapping between Herrera and Sullivan, maybe even between Herrera and Loadholt. Our D-line and OLBs should have the advantage over their O-line.

That said, that O-line still has the same players as last year. If we play more aggressive and don't play to stop Peterson, we should get to Favre.

Oh, as for Favre, there's more than just his late arrival in this. Underthrowing balls they way he did yesterday can't be pinned on being out of sync.
