Don't make me go on some tongue twisting metaphor again... Rock may think I am perpetually drunk or something. 😉

Actually you've made more sense than anyone. 7 pages of why Harrell was a wasted 1st round draft choice. Fricken Ted, if only would have traded up to get Marshawn Lynch. Oh wait, he's a bust too.

Lock this bad boy down!

So does a swift kick in the ass. Doesn't mean it isn't unpleasant. But it's not as bad as that Favre cell phone thread going on. That's just painful on any way it is looked at: no limelight, no diamond in the rough, no tenderloin from butcher. Just flat out pain.

His ass has been healthy this offseason.. no excuses will cut it for me outside McGinn and company were hitting the brew and crossed 91 with some other damn slackers number. 😉

Ill just throw in a comment on the healthy all offseason.

Being healthy, doesnt mean that his core muscles in his back, chest, shoulders have been cleared to go all out. With the surgeries to his back, all those muscles will have diminished. Even after the rehab have been "completed" he could have a long way to go before being ready to push his body into football shape.

I dont remember his exact injury timeline because he has been injured so much. So this might not be the reason for him "dogging" camp, but its worth considering imo.

Kind of like when we go mule deer hunting some day 93. I'll be toting up your fricken critter and be hollering "can't your slacker ass do more?", and not even take into consideration you're a one legged man walking up 500 foot revines.

I don't think having a lower back problem and trying to play DE in the NFL is a recipe for succes. If Harrell overcomes this injury and becomes even a part player for us, he should be applauded.

Quote of him realizing it is make or break...

http://packersnews.greenbaypressgazette.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100804/PKR01/100804139/Harrell-knows-stakes-heading-into-make-or-break-camp

"Four years, you don't stay around this league too long when you're not really producing or doing anything on the field," Harrell said. "I would say it's a make-or-break camp for me.

"There are people out there pulling for me. I get e-mails and stuff all the time -- encouragement and stuff like that. You just try to take it one day at a time and control what you can control."

Here.. didn't have any further surgeries and been feeling good .. this is in April.. one would think an entire offseason he would be in fairly good shape and ready to go..

PACKERS PIPELINE

Let's be honest, there's not a whole lot going on. I did, however, run into someone this weekend that many of you have been asking about:

Justin Harrell.

Have to say, he looks really good and very happy.

Harrell said he is weighing about 305 pounds, did not have further back surgery in the off-season, and has been feeling really good so far this off-season.

That being said, even Harrell acknowledged that none of this really means anything, that the only things that matters is can he stay healthy for more than 10 days once the pads are put on.

I hope it happens for at least one season. Harrell's young and has made some mistakes, but he's a good kid and I'm rooting for him. He's got to catch a break one of these days.

Hopefully he turns it on soon...

Ahhh.. great analogy... but if I commit to hunting and fail to do a thing to help get myself ready for the hunt.. while your paying me millions to do so.. then you can drop my game and roll my ass back down the hill. ;)

But your point is fair.. I am being a hard ass on the kid because I didn't expect anything from him but being ready and outworking the group to make a run at helping this team.. if nothing else but because of pocketed money.

I have sympathy for many in this world.. but those that aren't willing to make an effort, a committed effort then it diminishes rapidly. And believe me I am harder on myself than anyone else.

But if the kid's back is that bad, why in the hell are we continuing to pay him to play this game? We didn't do it will say a Murphy or Thompson did we?
