Not that I'm saying we should fire him but who else thinks that if this team doesn't go far in the playoffs this year it might be the end of MM? Considering all the expectations are high for this team standing from the players and fans point of view.

If we don't go far is it better to keep MM?

If he is fired does this put the team back since it's a new playbook new coach ... ?

What are your thoughts?

Well just because the fans/media have views and opinions of what the team should do, doesn't mean thats what the decision makers up stairs think. If he does LESS than what they would expect, i would think we would see a tighter rope. Not fired though because he has won in the past..Now if things completely fall apart, well thats a different story.

This was the subject of a thread started by Raider Pride a couple weeks ago. Most people who replied thought McCarthy's job is secure unless the season is a total disaster and it's not because of injuries.

Unless we completely capitulate and have a negative record, I wouldn't be too happy with seeing Coach McCarthy go.

A 2 season turnaround with a successful, new defensive scheme and a supremely talented franchise quarterback isn't enough, the puzzle pieces are just becoming ripe, it's almost gelled.

Yes, sometimes his stubborn ways can make you want to stab him (see Babre, playcalling in first half of the season, not being proactive enough with special teams) BUT, he has done a good job, and I have faith in him.

At this point this is a ridiculous question that has already been discussed at depth here. MM's job is absolutely safe at this point and anything other then a COMPLETE meltdown will NOT change that next season.

Just my opinion.

If the Packers have a losing season and didn't have super key guys go down in injuries then there is a chance MM will be fired but I doubt it...

I remember after the Tampa game last season, there were quite a few calling for his head....not pointing any fingers though. And look what became of it...a major winning streak and getting us in the playoffs. :o)

Agreed. And even if we went 4-12 or something I'd be on the fence.

What has MM done to be fired? No superbowl yet? A lot of coaches gonna be fired after the season then.
