Not Since de Mayo related, but the first time I heared of a Black History month, I thought it was a joke.

Then I saw it on Oprah. Which I do indeed watch from time to time.

This is the most idiotic part of positive racism that I can think off. First of all, do you really need a history month per race? It makes no sense. Then, secondly, a person like Martin Luther King will be remembered, regardless, because he did great things. He has a fricken' day, for crying out loud. Regardless of race, if you do something worth remembering, you'll be remembered. Black, white any anything in between.

All I know is that I wish those Native Americans would get off their dead asses and demand a national holiday to commemerate their suffering. We need a three day weekend in August.

Zero, we don't need a history month, we've dominated history! Now it is our turn to suck hind tit. Get use to it.

That Martin Luther King, Jr. has a holiday dedicated to him is one of the most monumental idiocies of our country's storied history. The man is one of the world's greatest frauds.

For one thing, from his earliest days as a schoolboy, he was a flagrant and shameless plagiarist. Over 60% of his Ph.D. dissertation was ripped verbatim and without attribution from a fellow Brown University graduate student's thesis. An investigatory committee convened by Brown University has publicly acknowledged his academic misconduct, but they refuse to revoke his Ph.D. out of fear of the political backlash that would ensue. Had the offense been committed by anyone else, the degree would certainly have been rescinded. I've read rumors that his "I Have a Dream" speech was plagiarized from a speech given by a Republican governor of Georgia a decade prior, but I haven't done a comparative study myself.

For another thing, numerous observers have pointed out that if you watch videos of King-led protests with an objective eye, you will notice that the violence that broke out around the demonstrations was often provoked and initiated by the supposedly peaceful protesters themselves -- they were the ones who threw rocks at the onlookers, for example.

For yet another thing, King's FBI files are so sleazy, they were sealed at Coretta Scott King's request until 2027. They portray him as a man who made Tiger Woods look like a good husband and father. Reportedly, the night before he was assassinated, King was frolicking with four prostitutes in a hotel room.

And this isn't even going into his well-documented Communist ties.

Yet this is a man to whom we have dedicated a federal holiday (in rather unseemly haste, I might add). In fact, the only non-President, other than Christopher Columbus, to have a holiday dedicated to his honor.
