Ok.. Well, not really. But I do know this.. Cinco de Mayo is a MINOR holiday in Mexico.. And according to few Mexicans I met (Mexicans that lived no where NEAR any of the tourist areas), they told me most Mexicans don't even celebrate it down there. They said we make a MUCH bigger deal out of it here. Wait.. You telling me that it's yet another commercialized 'holiday'?! NO WAY!!

Anyway, why do I bring this up? Because apparently wearing American flag apparel on May 5th in California schools is incendiary.  Really? What's incendiary is telling me to not wear my nation's flag and colors. You want a broken jaw? Then try to tell me what I can and cannot wear. IronMan said it.. The pussification of America.

And I'm disgusted with it and it's supporters.

We have become a nation of hyper-sensitive pussies. I would hate to be a woman and have to choose from this growing tribe of spineless half-men for a spouse.

Only in modern America do we punish our rsidents for celebrating their nation in a completely peaceful, non-confrontational way.

People aren't that high on patriotic colors over here. Then again, orange isn't that flattering a color.

People aren't crazy about America, either. Not like hatred, or anything, but they don't see the US as the place to be or so.

There's just one time when everyone gets completely crazy and that's during the WC. Wherever you go, anything and everythign will be orange.

And if I do go to the States, I'll ride this "cute" foreigner and this accent as much as I can. For as far as a Dutch accent is anything good. Lol.

ya thats totally fucked up formo - I remember a huge march way back when one of the candidates or something (cant remember) was going to do something about the whole immigration thing ... had all these mexicans wearing their colors and their flag - and then the leaders told them not to do that anymore because it looks wierd that they want to be here in the states yet still wearing the flag etc ...
I just find that humorous

The only thing Cinco de Mayo says to me is that it is time to chase Quervo shots with Corona. I take about as much offense to someone wearing their country's flag in America as I do Formo and VR putting on those stupid Heidi braids while munching down a steaming plate of lutefisk.

America isn't being pussified, it just happens to be full of pussies who have to make a big deal out of nothing.

And also putting on an American flag for a shirt doesn't make you Patriotic, it signals that you lack tact and fashion sense. A real patriot knows his American history, does what he can to make his community stronger, pays his taxes without whining like a bitch, and prays for and supports his leaders - whether he voted for them or not.
