Yes, they are.

In particular, look at the throw at 0:52. Absolutely gorgeous. It looks practically effortless.

Actually in a sort of defence of the original quote, I did get the small feeling that McCarthy let Rodgers get his 30 TDs. But then not the passing record, and certainly not in his second starting season. So maybe it's just a coincidence but I did feel like Rodgers was unnecessarily left in for quite awhile in that last regular season game.

I have to laugh at the rush to defend Rodgers still around here and throughout Packerland.. sounds so much like the early 90's and another Packers QB.

Rodgers has proven twice over already that he is capable of playing this game at a very high level and defending him in word is not needed at all.

Next on the agenda for a Rodgers led team.. win in the playoffs and help guide this team to the top.

No words of defense needed. 😉

Hey, let us enjoy our QB "vocally" a little bit, eh? I don't need to defend him, but I sure as hell like to be a vocal fan.

LOL... be vocal all you want.

I find it humorous is all.. years of defending another QB that now apparently is a leper in Packerland... now repeat the process close to 2 decades later.. it will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next decade or two..

When Brett was coming up he did all the wonderful charity work, was loyal to the Packers as they came.. was humble and honest in quote and it all soured after years of Packer fans pouring praise upon him.

I have to disagree about the Brett comments there. He was always good to the fans though.

Is the opinion of some fans upon Brett... yes I agree Brett has, as far as I can see it, been good to the Packer fans.

I don't agree with how he handled himself in the end with the Packers.. but I didn't walk in his shoes and know all of the details from his perspective either.. but never once have I heard he run down Packer fans as some have done to him.

Brett had an easier in here with the fans. The team had barely a shred of hope under Majik man and then Brett showed up and it was party time. People did not have huge expectations on the team early on in his career, like they do with Rodgers. Hope, sure, but expectations? Favre was free to drink, party, not study the playbook hard, etc. i.e. be Brett, while Rodgers has had to be a practically flawless ideal of how to handle the situation and he has still received criticism and some downright rude shit from Packers fans.

That's not "souring" on Favre. That's taking a step back and looking at his career here objectively, which has been so mixed in with real "souring" that the two get muddled.

I prefer to just look back at the Favre era as a time, and not focus on the player and person himself. A lot of pieces had to fall right into place for Favre and the Packers to have the success they did. Heaping the praise all on one individual is silly. And I can't really say that I admired him a ton off the field, because he was a wreck until he got too old to play that shit any longer.

And pack93z, that just comes with the territory. Favre probably didn't deserve the ridiculous amount of adoration that he received from fans either. Taking the good with the bad comes with the territory/fame/money.
