Lol. No, he didn't say that. But that's exactly the reaction he'd have gotten. He was in a position where he couldn't blame anyone else. You just don't do that. Especially if you're that low on the depth chart.

He didn't have a choice but play out of position there. Did he see that Bigby was out of position? I don't know, but since he was, that was the best play he could make. I was absolutely amazed at how close Bell was to breaking up that play with the amount of time that Ben had to throw it. This one was on Bigby. Had he been in position and Bell would've gone with the same coverage, it's all on Bell.

What I wrote was a hypothetical. Pretty much what would've happened if he did blame Bigby. Just look at how you two reacted, it's pretty obvious that he couldn't blame anyone but himself there. He would've killed his GB career, otherwise.

I'm rewatching the play in question and I see Bigby standing all by himself with no steeler around him. But you can't really blame Bell he had great coverage and it took a great throw and catch.

Also Nerdman yes they say Harris is a physical corner but they are referring to his hand checking at the line not tackling. Usually Harris is the one trotting behind the play.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The only thing more amusing than Rock's sarcasm in this thread was the failure of everyone else to catch it. Considering I caught Rock's point instantly, I guess I think more like Rock than I realized, and that's a scary thought.

Failure by everyone? He used quotes which is universally understood as actual comments from said person and then to add more to this he cited Packers.com as a implied source for this information.

I don't think there was any failure here other than by the original poster who falsely cited a source and misused quotations without any indication it was not factual.

And of course you caught it ... IMMEDIATELY ... because you're different and better than the rest. We get it. You're smarter than us all. We still don't much care. Now go sleep with your girlfriend while your wife watches, lucky asshole. 😉

I don't get where the Harris is a bad tackler thing is coming from? He was one of the team leaders in tackles when he got injured this year and only had 1 missed tackle all year.

http://profootballfocus.com/articles.php?tab=articles&arc=&id=132

Highest tackle / miss ratio in the entire NFL out of CBs. Not bad for someone who isn't good at it.

(Before Dhazer jumps in with his usual response - I am NOT trying to say Al is the best tackling corner in the NFL. I just find it interesting that his effeciency would be so good since he is supposedly a bad tackler.)

Point taken.

That still fails to explain why no-one else such as coaches or ex-players laid the blame on Bigby.

Leroy Butler on that play:

Theres no way that Bell should be inside of that receiver. He should be outside that receiver so he can push him toward Atari Bigby. Bell should be more aggressive outside-in, so that he can see the quarterback and the man. With his back to the quarterback, you can lose sight of the receiver. He has to force the guy to his help. His help was toward the inside. Thats where Bigby was. Thats why a lot of people say use the sideline as your friend. In that case, even with that throw and that catch, it was a bad play from the start.

I've never seen Harris shy away from contact. Wouldn't mind them seeing what he could do at safety. So, did they really release Bell? I thought that dude had potential.

OK, watching that play just reminded me of why I was so pissed off after that game. Has nothing to do with our DBs and everything to do with why the **** were we rushing only 3 people? Geez, look at Roethlisburger. All the time in the ****** world.

wpr (8h) : Slow posting in Fan shout.
wpr (8h) : Only 4
wpr (8h) : Only 4
Zero2Cool (10h) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (11h) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
