man I like james jones - good receiver ... and I hate to see drive down on the depth chart. Just watched like 5 games (from last season) during the past week and still love his play making ability.

but then again if we did trade for him wed have too many WRs ...

If we trade for him, opposing corners are gonna shit bricks.

Marshall is a major upgrade from James Jones, a better deep threat than Driver, and has the one thing Jennings doesn't - height.

I doubt it happens, but I would be excited.

Don't even know how they got up to 3 pages.
Ted Thompson would never make this trade, Marhsall is NOT Packer People that Ted Thompson looks for. Besides our receiving core is one of best strength and with Finley coming on last season like he did their is not reason to trade for Marshall.

After my first reaction, I've looked into Brandon a little more. I'm still not crazy about us trading Jordy or James for him, but ... he's 26 and is averaging more than 100 catches a year the last three years of his career.

His height is what has got me thinking more openly about it. 6'4".

Brandon.
Greg.
Finley.

That would be a solid trio for 3-5 years I would guess.

I also think it would make our offensive line "appear" better.

That's what I was thinking.

If you can't develop, draft or trade for a decent OL, might as well fix up everything else about the offense to mitigate the problems on the OL.

This stuff is all over twitter and the NFL.com warroom now.

The most common version on twitter is that we're trading Jones and a pick for Marshall.

The most common version in the warroom is that we're trading Barnett and a pick for Marshall.

Good stuff.

Not considering all of the various behavior/contract/money stuff, the thought of this:

Jennings
Marshall
Driver
Finley

All on the field at once is simply mind-blowing. Leave driver in slot, that is his natural position anyway, and run 3 wide 1 TE sets 90% of the time, freaking unstoppable. This will create more matchup problems than the fab-5 ever did, with Jennings and Marshall pretty much demanding double teams, and Finley being virtually uncover-able by anyone other than Charles Woodson.

I was also thinking it will help Ryan Grant get to the Pro Bowl too, lol. Everyone's going to be in a nickel/dime package trying to stop the air, he should be able to get more yards and scores then, hah.

Or give Brandon Jackson more carries and make him look like a better draft pick.

Sorry I didn't post here but I was in a rush this morning when I posted it on my site. Here is an update:

As far as the "deal" for Marshall, as far as I know the 2 sides have been "talking" for a while. From what I gathered "Double T" (Ted Thompson) knows that Driver can't play forever and he needs to plan for his replacement. Thompson also knows he can add arguably the best WR in the NFL for less than a 1st round pick. "Double T" knows he will have to pay him, but "Double T" has no problem paying for performance (especially if they are young).

From what I do know, it is 50/50 right now. This deal could go down on the eve of round 1 or during round 1.

Also, I was told to look for Brian Westbrook to be a Packer. I was told the deal shouldn't take a long time and look for it no later than next Monday (April 19th). The source told me it would be a 2 years deal that is heavily front loaded.

Again these are JUST RUMORS...PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND.

Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work.
Hard work is the price we must pay for success.
I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price

beast (6h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (11h) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (11h) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (12h) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (12h) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (12h) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing

beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent

Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
