Bucky Brooks was a WR, I think for the Bills, He played the same time as Robert Brooks and Billy Brooks, I remeber this because I had all 3 on my fantasy football team one year(I think I finished last).

Point being, he played in the NFL, so he knows a little of what it takes to get there and stay for a few years, but yea, have to agree, he is not an expert.

Really who is, drafting is such a crapshoot, and is more than the first 3 rounds, I agree with the fact that JJ and Jordy are in fact solid draft picks.

I pray for the day next year when GJ,DD,JJ, Jordy and Jermicheal are all on the field at the same time....Unstoppable in the right situation.

Vikings were given an A, Packers IMHO deserve a B, let's see how the teams grade out in 2 years, hell even Harrel looks like he might be able to show up this year and finally we will get a chance to judge that pick.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

I would also like to see hoe the Pack would grade out 2005- 2007.
That would be a more true 3 year grade than throwing in the 2009 draft.

How about 93Z, porky88 and Rockmolder grade out those 3 drafts, I bet they would be more accurate than Bucky.

While I understand that it is outside the time scope of this article, the pick of Aaron Rodgers has to be acknowledged too. At the rate things are going, it could grade out to be one of the genius picks of all time. The only one I can think of that's comparable in recent memory is the pick of Tom Brady.

The only reason it will never be comparable is that Brady was a 6th round pick making him a higher draft value.
That's not to say Rogers won't be, in the longrun, a better QB historically.

I totally concede your point, of course, but Brady was never graded out to be a first-round pick (and his performance in the NFL makes it apparent why: sure, he's won several rings, but he's only had one exceptional year statistically), whereas Rodgers was at one time graded out to be potentially the first pick overall, and his personal performance in the league has been commensurate. I think all the teams that passed on Rodgers look far more foolish than the teams that passed on the relatively unknown Brady, who was fortunate enough to enjoy a marvelous confluence of events in New England.

Personally I would put a pick like Driver over a Rodgers pick of overall value at slot picked.

Rodgers was a possible #1 overall pick.. by probably a virtue of a coin flip the 49ers picked Smith over Rodgers. Fast forward to the Packers 05 draft, it was clear they needed the next generation of QB to develop.. so the pick made perfect sense.. other than the frail ego of the starter at the time.

Driver, albeit on a ton of his own hard work and development, has turned into a for sure Packer hall of famer and a yearly All Pro worthy candidate. All for the price of a normally throw away pick of a 7th for most clubs.

Others of note in Packer lore of the past two decades.. guys that were highly productive later round picks.. where in my opinion the ability to judge talent truly sticks out greater.

lets take a look at 2009 for GB.

1 B.J. Raji Boston College decent, potential to be great
1 Clay Matthews Southern Cal great
4 T.J. Lang Eastern Michigan very good
5 Quinn Johnson LSU ok, potential to be very good
5 Jamon Meredith South Carolina ok, would like him to still be on the team
6 Jarius Wynn Georgia ok, a role player is a decent job for a 6th round rookie
6 Brandon Underwood Cincinnati average, hopefully some potential here
7 Brad Jones Colorado great production for a 7th round pick

Holy crap that is a good draft, consider how many picks were traded away to get Mathews and its even more impressive, really is there a guy on that list you can say was a "bad" pick? The one guy who didn't make the team(lord knows why not) ended up starting some games for who was it, the bills?

I was closer to the anti-TT camp until '09. In '09, he did everything right and earned an A on that draft. Agreed on all counts for what you said up there. CM3 will be a perennial Pro Bowler. Raji will get at least one Pro Bowl in his career. Two big scores, plus a bunch of good ones.

Back to the article, Jones and Jordy were NOT disappointments. When Driver eventually retires, Jones will take his place and get 1000+ yard seasons. Jordy will be a dang good #3 WR behind Gregorious and Jones.

Nelson and Jones have been far far from disapointments, very solid players. Not terribly flashy, but they havent gotten a huge amount of oportunities. If anyone thinks these guys are bad, all they need to do is look back at a few guys like Robert Ferguson, Antonio Chatman and Taco Wallace.

Nelson/Jones would be solid #2 WRs on a lot of teams in the league.

Wtf why is everyone so up on Jones I remember him dropping alot of balls and Nelson was not worth a very high 2nd round pick. I think the grade is about right. The Vikes are a little inflated but yes Harvin was a steal and blows both Jones and Nelson out of the water. But i also remember the years that the Vikes would be lucky to get their pick in on time lol. I also thinks AP trumps any of our top picks in the past 10 years. Yaya lets hear about Rodgers but AP gave production right away and earned his money and wasn't on the bench.

Rice didn't come into his own until this year before that I seen people calling him a bust.

I say if we do this again next year the A will goto the Lions I really like what they are doing.

The Bears ahhh hell we all know the Bears will still suck
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder

Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
