Too close to the truth, Blitz.

What if all the ones we owe money to finally call in their debts? What will happen then? This country is in over it's head........i think it's too late to fix it. When you are 1000 feet under water, and only have enough air left to make it up to 500 feet, you are gonna drown. That's where we are now. And every day, we sink more and more.
I don't see a politician out there that will change any of it.
I feel sad for anyone that has kids. The America that we had is almost gone now.

I'm FAR from an expert on this, but I have to assume that the countries that have lent us money have a financial interest in our economy, and they would lose out big time if it fell apart.

You're assuming they lend to us only for financial reasons. Lending money confers a measure of power. What if the lender is more interested in attaining power and leverage (political, psychological, or otherwise) over the debtor? In this case, calling the debt, while financially disadvantageous in the short run, could be a form of non-military conquest.

Scenario:

Eastern cultures, particularly the Chinese, have extraordinary patience and a willingness to sacrifice to achieve their goals...everything the U.S. is not at this time...a bunch of children wanting everything now (regardless of cost or budget) and foresight that does not extend beyond five minutes. Throughout history, the Chinese have literally allowed decades and centuries to pass in pursuit of their goals...and often at great cost.

The Chinese do not hide their ambitions, rather, they tell the world. They want to be the world's sole economic and military superpower, and like little children, western leaders ignore it all because they live only for the next election cycle.

Our politicians/intellectuals always tell us that the Chinese are dependant upon the U.S. for their economic growth, and that is why they will never call in our debt.

Question: Do you honestly believe China's government/military/industry leaders would give a shit if 50% or more of their population....you know, the peasant class....died off as a result of killing the U.S./European economies, and a large part of their own in doing so? These people, much like the Ivy League turds that run our country, never feel the pain and will always be cared for. Hell, losing their poor would be a great benefit to these people.

Given the size of China's standing army, their ever growing nuclear and nano-technology weaponry, and the fact that they are producing engineers of all types at a staggering pace...it becomes evident, to me at least, that they are poised for a major geographic expansion through whatever means necessary. May not happen in our lifetimes, but it is brewing.

History...ignore at one's own peril....

Scary thought Digs. China thought nothing about losing 55 million under Mao and they still label him a great hero. 55 million people. That's more than Stalin and Hitler combined.

When people in the 60s thought they don't think the same way about human life as we do, the precursors to the politically correct denounced them as racist. Of course, despite the facts that proved them right. They really don't. Cultural differences. They also don't feel the same way about cannibalism as we do. Imagine my disgust when I heard how human flesh tastes like. Yes, not making this up.

Today's Americans have their heads too far up their asses to know what's coming. I feel bad for our future generations.

DO NOT BUY SHIT FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS POINTED AT YOU.

China could bring this country to its knees without a single bullet fired, or drop of blood spilled....just call in our crippling debt.

Thanks, Washington...and all you Ivy League fucks running the show...and this country into the ground.

I wish for a lot more state college representation in Washington...you know, people that have actually done something other than being born into priveledge and directed career paths regardless of lack of capacity....and who have an ounce of common sense.

It's facile to blame the politicians. WE elect the politicians. They represent US. If Americans would stop voting for the lesser of two evils, grow some balls, and give alternative choices a chance -- instead of dismissing and marginalizing them -- we would have a more representative government. Until Americans stop brainlessly vacillating between the Republican and Democratic Parties, I will have no sympathy for their mindless imprecations against the regime du jour.

We elect politicians from a very select group of individuals...and that is my point.

It is virtually impossible for the "unconnected" every day person with great ideas to reach those lofty heights....it takes a firtune that most people do not have to run for office these days. Don't cite Obama as an example...he was hand-picked and backed by huge money from the get-go

Scott Brown is a recent example that it can be done, but he is truly an anomoly. Perhaps, finally, the American people are waking up the the poison that both parties have been feeding us. for decades I am not necessarily for endless parties such as happens in Italy, but would like to see our two traditional parties brought back to mainstream with candidates who actually listen to the people who elected them.

Zero2Cool (29-May) : Whoa
beast (29-May) : OMG the website is now all white, even some white on white text
beast (29-May) : Henderson, who admits to taking cocaine during the Super Bowl against the Steelers, might dislike Bradshaw as he lost two Superbowls to him

Mucky Tundra (28-May) : Cooper stock=BUY BUY BUY
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : Also notes he’s playing with more confidence.
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : @AndyHermanNFL MLF says there was a time last year where Cooper was at 220 pounds. Now he’s at 240 and still flying around.
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : And don't even get me started on Frank Caliendos "impersonations"
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I got tired of them being circle jerks with them overlaughing at each others jokes.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : It used to be must watch TV for me. now it's "meh" maybe to hear injury update
Mucky Tundra (28-May) : I haven't watched the pregame shows in years and I don't feel like I've missed a thing
Zero2Cool (28-May) : Love says knee affected him all season, groin injury didn't help matters.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : I used to enjoy him on FOX Pregame. Now it's like a frat party of former Patriots.
Zero2Cool (28-May) : LaFleur on Watson: “Christian is doing outstanding. I would say he’s ahead of schedule.”
Martha Careful (28-May) : Bradshaw is a dumb ass cracker. I am so tired of his "aw shucks" diatribe. He should shrivel up and go away.
buckeyepackfan (28-May) : He wad all butt hurt because Aaron duped the media saying he was immunized.
