Swain would be released more likely.

It's something Ted Thompson could check into. Depends on Cleveland's asking price and what the Packers feel willing to give. They do have Will Blackmon, whom is good, but injury prone.

So I guess we have no confidence in Will Blackmon?

Blackmon was a good punt returner, not kick returner.

I think MTV Cribbs would fill in the big hole we have had these past few seasons.

If we have to trade him for a draft pick, I say no. We have a lot of positions that we need to draft players for (e.g. OL, S, DL, CB)

Wonder if we could work a trade with Cribbs and Kampman if Cleveland does go 4-3. Sure there would be picks one way or another involved.

"Packers_Finland" wrote:

That's a very interesting trade, actually.

There's no way that we would just get that one off straigth up. Kampman is too old and coming on a bad injury.

We could, maybe, pull that one off if we invest a lower pick or two. A 3rd/4th and a 6th or something to go along with Kampman.

The only problem is that, for this trade to happen, there'll have to be two opposing interests within one franchise. Firstly, he'll want to net some picks by trading away Cribbs. Obviously, that franchise is in a rebuilding process. Then, secondly, for some reason, he'd want to get an older, premier DE to anchor his defense around.

It seems very unlikely to me. And they have to be going to the 4-3 to make this one work, something I heared very little about.

Actually, I've heared more about the 49ers going to a 4-3 than about the Browns.

Would love to have him. Who do we cut to make a spot. Is him on ST enough to weaken our WR corp or DBs?

That I am not sure about.

You serious? Cribbs would be our 5th WR. Over Brett Swain/whoever comes off the practice squad.

And I'm not sure trading for him is necessary. Isn't he a free agent?

once again for everyone saying cribbs would be our 5th receiver, that doesn't solve the question that was asked. Sure we'd cut our 5th receiver for him, but on gameday our 5th receiver is never active. So then we'd have to find someone else to put on the gameday inactives list to get him on the field.

And this is your whole problem with trading for him?

We've had Montgomery active in games where he didn't see the field at all. Not even with an injury to Pickett. We've had three TEs active just about every game. Two should be enough.

I don't think that this problem would make much of an impact if you're willing to trade for a player.
