We wouldn't have been able to get Matthews if we didn't have a certain extra third round pick.

I still say in terms of draft slot.. we paid too much to move into that slot...

1st-26 5th-162

I'd have liked to have received a 4th or 5th as well, but I'm down with it because it appears we have a solid player on our roster for years to come.

If he keeps playing this well, this could end up looking like a steal for us. I've done my share of complaining about TT, but this was a move I was ecstatic about when it happened.

Don't get me wrong.. I am okay with overpaying for a player here and there.. just that it was an overpayment at the time.. sometimes those risks reaps the reward.. just don't want to make a habit of it.

I'm glad he over paid for him, if that's the consensus. Perhaps it will turn a light on into his dome to trust his instincts on players and do what it takes to get them. 🙂

Clay Mathews is a Beast, I can careless about Percy. Mathews better win the R.O.Y award.

I mentioned in chat last night about how after yesterdays performance that Clay Matthews is now only 1 of 2 pass rushers drafted in the last two years who is averagin at least .5 sacks per game. In 12 games CM3 has 7.0, and Orakapo has 7.0 in 12 games as well. Taking a look at some other names that aren't up to that snuff, I think it's quite impressive what CM3 is doing. Chris Long (8.0 in 28 games), Larry English (2.0 in 12 games), Aaron Curry (2.0 in 12 games), Everette Brown (1.5 in 11 games). The biggest "pass rushing dunce cap wearer" (courtesy Peter King) is Vernon Ghoulston, supposed elite pass rusher of the future (0.0 in 25 games). Kudos to Thor and what he has brought to the Pack this year for being considered maybe only the 3rd best LB from USC this year.

Aaron Curry is not a pass rusher though. Just a 4-3 OLB.

The fact that he made a left tackle look mediocre most of the night is beyond amazing. The size difference alone was funny to watch when Matthews was standing him up and making moves to make the tackle.

Gaither is going to get reamed during film.

Big honor for #Packers LB Clay Matthews: NFC defensive player of the week. Should help his cause for defensive rookie of the year.

Wow. That's pretty surprising. I had to read it a few times. Good for him!!

Martha Careful (1h) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (1h) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : NFL has passed a rule that allows both teams to possess the ball in OT during the regular season
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line.

earthquake (27-Mar) : That’s wild, when I was a kid my friend lived in the same apartment complex in De Pere
Mucky Tundra (27-Mar) : Only career highspot was a 200 yard rushing game while playing for the Cardinals
Mucky Tundra (27-Mar) : He is a former Packer. Drafted out of Northern Illinois. Didn't do much in GB.

Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Former NFL. I think Packers too
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : NFL RB Leshon Johnson has been charged in a massive dog fighting operation, with the FBI seizing over 190 Pit Bulls
