Let me first start this by saying ... this is coming from being frustrated with Ryan Grant.

Now that is out of the way.

I wouldn't object to seeing Ahman Green taking more carries from Ryan in future games. Does he have that break away speed? I don't think so. He can catch. He can block. And one thing I really like about him. He HITS people hard instead of just falling down.

I tried to stick up for Grant. After watching him pitter patter his feet and creep into a hole. I'm through.

Green or Jackson. I would rather either of them getting more carries. Grant I think has a low base salary so if he doesn't hit his incentive marks, he doesn't make his full 4 something million this year.

Save some money, bench Grant. :)

Okay some of that was joking, but seriously, I would like to see Green run a bit more.

Edit ... did Green look bigger to anyone else?

Yeah, Green looked absolutely jacked last night. I think he's been doing nothing but hitting the weights. I liked what little I saw out of him last night. If he can stay healthy he might have something left in the tank to help us out in certain situations.

Someone needs to take carries from Grant. In the 3 losses this season Grant has like 127 rushing yards. Rodgers in those games has 111. Rodgers needs some help.

Considering it was his first game action in quite a while I thought he looked pretty good. I've always like the way he runs. I'd love to see him get more carries.

How many rushing attempts for Grant in those 3 losses? Two were against Minnesota -- a team you don't run the ball 30 times against.

C'mon.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'll say this: when Ryan Grant doesn't get bullied at the line of scrimmage, I think he runs with a lot of gusto. When he gets a lane, he can be a dangerous back.

Sure, I think we can upgrade the RB position. I don't, however, think that Grant is the problem. I think our offensive line is.

As for Green -- I think he'll end up a nice addition. I loved how he delivered that hit at the end of that one play.

Grant needs one solid chance. Dropping his carries doesn't help, and that line just can't cut him free.

That said, he hasn't shown me much in the last couple seasons, and he's certainly not a guy who can create his yards w/out help from the o-line.

And we're back to the o-line - if they just do their job this team doesn't need anything more than a fairly decent back (which is what he looks like to me - another Bennet-Levens kind of guy).

Fix that line and then let's see how he looks (but draft someone with real talent while you're at it - a good RB never hurts).

What I liked about Green is if there's a hole or not, he's running full speed into someone and hitting them. Grant, he shuffles his feet a little bit before moving forward and all momentum is lost.

I thought a RB in the ZBS was supposed to take a step or two and one cut and GO!

I don't see Grant doing that. Yes, the OL isn't doing him any favors letting people near him right away.

The thing is: He lacks lateral agility so much that when the lane closes up, it's already a negative yard run. I think he has a type of running style that can work with a good offensive line, but when stuff breaks down, he's not even average.

Not to mention he is not even close to breaking as many tackles as he did in '07. It's odd to say the least. It's not like he was overworked at all and he's still young.
