I like Green.....but this begs to be asked.

What exactly did you see out of Green you like so much

What did he have.......1 yard rushing?

I liked that he HITS someone instead of waiting to get hit and stumbling to the ground.

Hopefully he gets into football shape soon and his legs stay under him.

Other than that. He's nothing to get too excited over. Except, he's not Ryan Grant. Which, I like.

I must be watching the bizarro NFL channel. All i saw this game was Grant avoiding huge losses on those sweeps where none of our blockers decide to actually hit anyone. Enjoyed him flattening Madieu Williams to the ground. Watched him continue to improve his passing game.

All i saw from Green was a man wearing ten pounds of sand in his shoes running in slow motion. Ted only brought him in to let him get the record to try and deflect the attention. I see no reason to believe that Green will be any better than his last couple seasons, which is not impressive in the least. I believe that what we saw from Green this week is exactly what we can expect.

I agree that Green looked extremely slow, particularly on returns. I don't remember his runs from behind the line of scrimmage; perhaps that occurred while I was trying to find a stream that worked.

He didn't look slow on one of his few offensive touches (and only truly substantive offensive play) -- the play that he ended with the nice hit.

I think the jury is still out on Green's "speed." I understand he's 32 now, but speed was never his problem to begin with. It was arguably his most underrated attribute. Everyone thinks about his patient running and physical style. I remember that too but he also had surprising home run speed. I don't imagine he's as fast now as he was six years ago but I doubt he's a slow player even now.

Just need to see more is really all I'm saying.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Grant is, was and always will be a turn and run straight RB. He is not a cutter, he runs with to much forward lean which makes him susceptible to arm tackles. He cannot cut in traffic, he has the ability to veer about 10 degrees, anything more than that, and he will be running into whatever is in front of him. That was OK with the ZBS in 07.

This year we are have progressed to more of a power running game. We are now blocking forward instead of sideways on a lot of plays, and Grant cannot run this type of style. It requires being able to cut better. Green has run behind this type of blocking, and has the ability to cut. As we continue to progress away from ZBS, Grant will be less and less effective. Green may not be the quickest, but he can cut and avoid running into the Oline.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
