Finley and Lee are capable receivers, so Jordy's loss hurts more on special teams than it does as a receiver.

80 Donald Driver WR 6-0 194 34 11 Alcorn State D7b-99
85 Greg Jennings WR 5-11 198 26 4 Western Michigan D2b-06
89 James Jones WR 6-1 218 25 3 San Jose State D3a-07
87 Jordy Nelson WR 6-3 217 24 2 Kansas State D2a-08

88 Jermichael Finley TE 6-5 247 22 2 Texas D3-08

Somehting I did not realize is the size difference between Donald Driver and GJ compared to JJ and JN.

Jones and Nelson 20lbs heavier, I really didn't know Jordy was taller than Jones.

Finley is just a beast!!!!!!

JJ has the size and moves to get some good mismatches, look for him to have a good game, him or Finley should have chances for some big plays.

A team can't double team everyone. JJ needs to step it up and pick up the slack of Jordy being out the next few weeks.

Jones is a Sterling Sharpe type of WR. He's big and bulky and can run people over for first downs. Jordi's big like that too.

I've always liked Jones, but he's been disappointing this season up until the Lions game. We should see a lot more of him now.

I agree with Rockmolder that the Packers should not run the ball any more than they have been. Our average RB is not good enough to overcome the crappy blocking of our OL, but our well-above-average QB and receivers are good enough to overcome it at least some of the time.

"Greg C." wrote:

I agree with you and Rock. Screw the run. We only need to do it to keep Ds honest, but other than that, let's get the ball more to our WRs.

I'm a big Jones fan. Always have been. He's impressed me since day 1.

I think less Jordy will mean more running the ball.

I hope you are correct young man.

I hope you're not.

I still can't grasp the concept of staying with a constantly struggling running game while we have this passing game. It's like the Patriots constantly running Maroney or the Colts constantly giving the ball to Addai, but then on a smaller scale.

WCO --> Short routes substitute for the run to some extent --> Opens up deep routes and stops pass rush.

Just go for the short passing game. It works wonder with our receivers and quarterback.

Of course I don't want us to completely abandon the running game. I'm pretty happy with where we are now. Just running it enough to keep the defense on their heels, stop the all out rush and tire them a little, yet, we're still an obvious passing team. As we should be.

Sucks that Jordy is out, btw. Maybe it's some sort of vicious cycle where our 3rd receivers keep getting injured, giving the 4th more playing time, bumping him up to 3rd...

Jones could be a #1 reciever on alot of teams. He's that good. It's just that he's stuck behind Jennings and Driver. We've got 4 guys who could be #1 WRs in the NFL. Plus Finley.

I was wondering if you could be nice and share whatever you are smoking and drinking because with a statement like that you have to be doing both things lol. There is no way in hell Jordy or Jones is a #1 wr.

Probably should check your facts, Rossum was a pretty damn good returner.
I rememeber right, he left via Fa to Atlanta and continued on a pretty good career. Hell after checking , he is still playing.

Rossum was given crazy money, that's why he left. Packers didn't think a returner was worth a lot of money.

That is correct, shame how the facts really screw up someones attempt to slam Sherman and talk up TT.

I just wish people would quit trying to make Ted Thompson look good comparing him to MS.

Hell that's a can of worms that doesn't need to be opened again.

Jones could be a #1 reciever on alot of teams. He's that good. It's just that he's stuck behind Jennings and Driver. We've got 4 guys who could be #1 WRs in the NFL. Plus Finley.

Jones is definitely no slouch. He beat champ baily for a TD in 07 and ever since I saw that I knew he was good. He doesn't get thrown too all that often, but when he is thrown to he makes BIG plays. IMO hes better then Jordy, but I don't think it matters. The WR position on this team is very solid, so if one goes down we have people to come and step in. Our OL is a different story though.
