Did anyone see al take out his mouth guard before the ball was caught during that td pass to i think it was berrian? I just thought it was kind of weird.

I saw that also and it struck me as strange at the time.
Harris looked as lost out there as Kampman.

I think Harris took it out to say something to Martin, who im guessing was supposed to have the over the top.

I have not been impressed with Al, seems like he isnt reading the QB and making plays that should be made.
BAD EMAIL because the address couldn ot be found, or is unable to receive mail.

Well......giving the QB all day to find an open guy is what killed us. They had some good coverage, but then everything would break down because you know who had 5 to 7 seconds to wait for someone to get open.

What's your thoughts guys?

Trade Kampman for a quality tackle it's the only option we've got. His position in this scheme with the players we've got now ... it's replaceable.

Sadly I agree with you - we are not taking advantage of kampman's strengths; instead we put him out there in coverage more then we should and not as a pro-bowl pass rusher.

Heck we could probably get 2 decent OL guys for what kampman is worth a a solid DE.
(considering how our Oline has been playing)

For THREE years? Come on, really? The guy was named to the Pro Bowl 2 years ago. Then he was hurt for most of last year. So it wasn't like he was playing "lazy" on the field last year, he was injured.

He also played really well last weekend and made some crucial stops. I won't argue that he's the same Al Harris from when he came in to the league but I wouldn't say it is time for him to leave.

Something was not right with the entire D.

First of all, they hardly blitzed. You could seriously wonder if our DC was the same Dom Capers associated with Blitzburg. Astonishingly bad pass-rush, and just as astonishing to see a lack of blitzes.

I think Favre did a solid job of realizing Al's tendencies and exploiting them. A couple of times I recall seeing Al being nonchalant in setting up at the LOS. I think Favre, by design, kept the snap count short and caught Al off guard.

Either way, I'm not as worried about Al as I am the pass-rush. It was just as bad as last year during Sanders' tenure.

And on top of that, I'm worried that our best pass-rusher in Aaron Kampman is being taken away from playing to his strengths. I'm much more worried about our utilization of Aaron than Al.

They pulled back on the blitzes last night to make sure they accomplished goal #1.. stopping Peterson, they played gap contain defense all night last night.. begging the Vikings to pass.

Harris gets exposed on a hard fast surface, you can really see the lack of speed on the turf.. on natural grass he makes up for some of it with his decisive cuts.. on turf.. just not able to hide the speed factor..

On Berrian's TD.. Martin blew the over coverage.. he got sucked inside, it was a blown coverage that wasn't totally Harris fault, he had to protect the under.. Martin had the over.

But when they needed a big play, they made Harris try to stay with the receiver and played his weakness.

That being said.. I will take my chances with these three corners any day of the week..

What I saw that stood out was the Safety play, not Al. Two deep safeties and they were standing around in what seemed out of position. When you they each have 1/2 the deep responsibility, they should never bee inside the hash marks. Martin was no where close to where he should have been on Berrians TD, and on another, in the replay you could see Collins almost staring into space as the WR ran buy him.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Martin was responsible for 14 points probably all by himself last night. He was easily the worst player on the D side of the field for us. Harris just looked bad because of Martin's inability to play the zone correctly.

The very reason I despise the zone. Corners or LBs expect to have help and don't get it.
You can be right 9 times out of ten (GB has not been that good) but the 10th time is going to be a TD or at the very least a huge gain that leads to points.
