How many years did Bill Cowher coach the Steelers before he won the Super Bowl?

Means nothing to us. Totally different situation. Different organization dealing with different PEOPLE. Who knows what the FO thinks of our the Head Coach if he doesn't pan out "behind the scenes". Our opinions don't mean anything in the actuality of the situation.

I still don't believe the bromide that we must make the playoffs this season or heads will roll. However, if Mike McCarthy persists in his bullheaded refusal to adapt his scheme to the personnel he has at his disposal -- more particularly, if we are consistently dominated throughout the season -- I can see him being let go at season's end. I don't believe the final record will be the deciding factor but rather how the team looks on the field. If they lose a lot of close ones but they're scrappy and spirited, I doubt it will cost him his job. If they look sloppy and are dominated by inferior teams as they were today, I can see him packing his bags.

I don't see any scenario short of a 2-14 season in which Ted Thompson is discharged, however.

Personally I think TT's job is safe as can be unless we have a Lions' type of season which is already out of reach. Mike McCarthy OTOH, I don't think has the same security.

All i have to say on that is......MM better chew some @$$ this week.
Get on these guys backs and ride them for the embarassment they were today.
They got manhandled by a lousy team. Let a lousy RB run over us.
If this had been against a GOOD team, i could accept it. But the BENGALS?
Unacceptable.

Geez, one loss to the Bengals and it's a fire Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy thread?

Losses to the Bungles engender that sort of anger. If they lose to Detroit, riots in the streets with mobs carrying pitchforks and torches.

The only jobs i see in jeopardy are blockers that can't block, WR's that can'y catch a damn ball, runners that can't gain a yard or turn the ball over, and D-linemen that can't stop a pedestrian runner like Cedric "Barry Sanders" Benson.
Coach and GM don't do those things.

Players don't decide the roster and supply depth on said roster, our gamble not to address the tackle spots on this roster are being exposed at the moment.. one do to under perfomance on the players part one to injury..

It is only one loss, but since the bullets began to fly for real.. our mild chinks in the armor have been exposed.

Offensive tackle and Safety.. twice today I see Rouse out of position in coverage one for a touch down to Coles were he got to shallow in coverage. I wonder if they regret cutting Smith?

You can find posts of mine from the last two season asking for a change to be made to the offensive line coaching staff.. this shit is getting pathetic.. and we will be treated to the fundamentals excuse yet again.

I am fundamental sick and tired of making that lame ass excuse.

Ted Thompson is and always will been the problem. The sooner he starts recognising our needs and delivering the sooner we start winning. Our O-line has been basic for a while now, but Thompson continues to make assumptions and continues to fail. The youngest team in the NFL AGAIN!, that equates to no experience and dumb mistakes. For once I'd love to say we'd brought in a big money F.A, but it won't happen with Ted. This team is in dire need of stability.... more f**king rookies is NOT the answer. McCarthy can only work with what he's given, and he's only given the bare minimum to work with.

I do not know about bromides, etc. All I know is what the Corps taught me and Vince hopefully taught you. Fuck a bunch of small-market...When we say we are holding a line...we are holding a motherf$cking line damnit..

All the rest is b.s.-- including all rationalization...

Dig in... for my Pukers...(I admit this is lame, it's all I got--not my fault that the world does not know what "dig in" really means)
