Garcia will bide his time, unless maybe KC wants to sign him(Cassell still hurt?), Garcia has proven he can step into a system and win ball games, if AR would go down and JG is still available, then sign him.

The Packers system is not that much different from TB or Philly, he did fine in both places.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Not bad for discussion but he won't come to Green Bay because he wants a chance at a starting job thus the reason he went to Oakland.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I would love to have him on the team. If Aaron Rodgers went down, he could still lead us to a possible playoff run.

I'd take Garcia over Flynn also. I would even cut Flynn to open a spot for Garcia. He gives us our best chance to win if Rogers had to leave the game.
Plus I have always liked Garcia.

Okay honestly.... I think your a little crazy.... or just had a crazy spell or huge man love for Garcia or something....

A 39 year old QB who hasn't been in the Packers system, plus he's injury prone and hasn't play 14 games since 2002

over

A 24 year old QB who has been in the Packers system and has a heck lot of upside and could be the #2 for years.

If your taking cutting Flynn for Garcia I hope your planing on drafting a QB in next year's draft. Because getting rid of Flynn could mess up the #2 for years and if Rodger goes down then (you know when Garcia is retired than the Packers are in huge trouble... can't just think about one year)

Flynn won't want to stay a back up forever. He didn't come into the NFL to back up. We aren't grooming Flynn to take Rodgers spot. We are grooming him as trade bait for the future. Rogers is our future. there is no point keeping 2 young QB's on the staff that have futures as starters.(If Flynn does have a future as a starter.) Garcia can be a reliable back up for a few years.

I would prefer to keep Flynn as our #3 and continue to develop him. Then we trade him.

Future potential/trade bait are second priority to what your #2 can do for you now.

If AR broke his arm today, who would you feel more comfortable with guiding the packers for the next 8 weeks, Garcia or Flynn?

The national football post  has a rumour that we might bring in Joey Harrington. If that's the case I'd definitely rather have Garcia:

GREEN BAY Im hearing the Packers might make a move for Joey Harrington now that the Brian Brohm era has ended in Green Bay. Brohm never looked quick-minded or in rhythm the past two summers. Matt Flynn clearly out-played Brohm and looked like he had a much better command of the offense.

I was a big fan on Harrington. Used to trade him onto my Madden franchise and groom him into a great QB.

Sadly, that's not how it works in the NFL. I would've loved for him to turn into a great QB, but the teams he has played with have never allowed him to show his skills. I think that they might have screwed him up by now.

That said, I think that he can be very solid with the supporting cast that we're offering him. He's only played in shitholes and when he played with a bit less horrible team, he's showed off why he was a high pick. (2007 Atlanta didn't even look like 2008 Atlanta).

I would be totally good with Garcia. I think he's a gamer. I think that those that think Garcia got cut because he wanted to start...I think you are wrong and find that to be goofy thinking.

Those that think Garcia got cut because he was a threat to Russell--I think that it is ok to think that...I think that is what happened also, as strange a concept as that might be...goofy, even.

I think that IF the Pack wants to acquire Garcia, and I think they do...They have a tough decision to make. If they make a move for him prior to the 1st game, they will have to guarantee his salary for the entire year. If they wait until after the beginning of the year, they don't have to guarantee anything.

Will he still be available then?

Tough decision, that's what I think, and I am done with the whole thinking thing and going back to my regularly scheduled not thinking.

Err.. considering what we have right now, I'd be happy with either Garcia or Harrington as a backup.
