Something to the effect of "Bigby very quiet while Smith makes noise" It is a article about the onfield play i guess but maybe there is a tibet of information about the fact he isn't liked in the green bay coaching circle.

I hope that stays a rumor and never a reality because Smith can really help this team. He is a 26 year old soon to be 27. And you never know if Atari will sign with Packers after this year. To be honest we still have the free safety position pretty much injured. Nick Collins is banged up and Atari is not himself since the Seahawks playoff game. If one of them would go down then we could have Smith start and Rouse as backup safety.

The snippets of the article I can read without the subscription don't point anyway to Smith being traded. The title is about Smith making more noise on the field this camp and preseason, and what can be read around never seems to point to a cut, more that Smith may replace Bigby.

Would really like to see the rest, but since I am cheap, will need someone to post the entire article.

He better be hanging dead kittens in teammates' lockers, for this rumor to be true.

The nutty thing is that Smith has been a model citizen in the locker room. He's helped all the other SS learn the position. The problem is that the lead dog isn't found of him.

Also, we hear that A Rod may have had an issue with him during the off season workouts which may have influenced the lead dog's opinion of Smith.

None of which are reasons to release Smith... I hope that I'm wrong too. I was screaming when I was having the conversation about this... you cannot cut this player, but if someone doesn't want you around and they are the decision maker... you're done.

I'm going to post again - smith and bishop are my 2 fav non-starter d players that I have seen so far ...

meaning the way these guys have been playing; I wouldnt feel bad if they took a starter job if they keep showing this type of consistency

With all due respect to the OP, this is the same guy who a few weeks ago, would have had us believe that the Packers management was hot for Vick, a rumor I never gave much credence and which ultimately turned out not to be true. So I will maintain a healthy skepticism about this rumor until more evidence emerges.

...But the packers were interested in Vick Ted Thompson even said "they were looking into it" Vick just decided to goto the eagles.

i think it's still inconclusive. ted did say that, but he says that absolutely every single time anyone asks him about a player.
