I doubt he'll clear waivers. As Ted Thompson likes to say, God didn't make too many guys that big. A lot of rosters aren't as deep as ours is. He will end up somewhere pretty quick.

That is the big question, for me. Actually two.

Will he clear waivers would be one.

How much do I personally care at this point would be number two.

I honestly do not know the answer to either.

And a quick shoutout to Dakota.

LOL

That is good stuff, there. I will take all of that under advisement.

Surely Harrell makes the roster if fit as he's the only guy outside of Raji and Pickett who could play NT in a pinch.

I think Wynn has done some good things for a rookie. I know he's not ready yet like Harrell would be if he were able to go but I think Wynn might turn out to be a nice rotational guy in there.

Everyone understands that if Harrell clears waivers and lands on the IR that he does not count against the 53 man roster, correct?

I too do not want him on that 53. I want him injured/waived/IR'd for healing and see where we are next year..

"dfosterf" wrote:

Agreed. He won't cost us anything if he clears waivers and lands on IR, and if he doesn't clear waivers then he's some other team's problem.

IF he can get his back right, he could still be some use to the team next year. If he doesn't, we cut him then. Cutting him now does nothing but appease some bloodthirsty fans.

Bloodthirsty! I like the sounds of that.

I don't care what we do with him, as long as he isn't on the 53-man roster. Pay him the rest of the contract for all I care, as long as someone who can do the job is on that line come opening day.

Harrel brings nothing to the Packers. Never has, never will. It's too bad too. Everyone loses.

I disagree. He was a perfect lightning rod while Ted Thompson was busy transitioning from a low-talent, no-depth team with an aging icon to a VERY good football team top to bottom.

But the Packers won't gain much by cutting either of these players loose right now. It is getting close with Harrell, though. I admit that.

"Greg C." wrote:

How much are we gaining by keeping Harrell around? He said recently that the last two surgeries have left pretty much bone on open bone between two of his lower vertebrae.

Thats not gonna work. The sooner the Packers accept this and move on, the better they will be.
