Johnny Jolly returning to Green Bay could be big. While we all know he hasn't played in 3 seasons, and the possibility that rust may never come off is very real, he is being given a true 2nd chance at life and living his dream. That is a pretty big component in all this to consider, that, and he doesn't have 3 years of NFL wear and tear on on his 30 year old body.
Jolly was never a giant sack artist, but he had an uncanny knack for batting down balls at the line of scrimmage. In 2009, his last season playing for the Packers, he had 10 passes defended, and 1 INT to go with a single sack and 39 tackles, 1 FF and 2 FRs. He was playing at a pretty high level when he left this game.
I'm hopeful he can return and play some serviceable minutes spelling Raji and Pickett, and I wish him all the best. It would be good to have another giant in there, at 6-3 325. Maybe, just maybe, he does something really special with this second chance. It is a spectacular opportunity for him, with a lot of support around him, and I would guess a pretty great fire to succeed burning inside of him. This does have the potential to be pretty good.
