McNairs wife did comment last night ..she had not seen him in 2 days ! I think that this was an affair that lasted a while. He was going to break it off and she could not stand it. Waited until he is asleep and shot him.
She is off her rocker at that point and puts a gun to her head and "Bang".
It happens a lot guys I have been involved in Fire/EMS for 18 years and you don't want to know how many of these crimes of passion scenes I have been too.
I once worked a double murder where the male beat the cheating wife and boyfriend to death and set the house on fire..we found the female while we are putting the fire out. My Partner was working the nozzle in the living room and steps in front of the couch on her body...nasty discovery.

Damn, do you have a link? I haven't seen anything about a wife's comment on the news here.

Love triangles are always dicey propositions. You can't invest too much into them; you have to be able to get in and get out with a minimum of mess. Do we know yet whether McNair owned the condominium? Last I heard the police hadn't released this information. If he did, I think he was a freaking dumbass. I would never buy a gift like that (or any gift, for that matter) for a woman who wasn't my wife. That's just asking for trouble.

But nothing justifies murder. I've never understood murder over sex. Like all those idiots who come home from Iraq, find their spouse cheating, and then kill her and themselves. What's the point? There are 6 billion people in this world, roughly half of whom are of the opposite sex. Why ruin your life over someone who obviously isn't worth it? Why not let her go her miserable way and find someone else who actually wants you? No one -- and I mean NO ONE -- in this world is worth killing yourself over.

When we were stationed at Fort Bragg, we actually had a man in my wife's unit who experienced this scenario. He came home from deployment, found his wife in bed with another man, and proceeded to shoot her and then himself in front of their kids! WHY??? How could anyone justify potentially fucking his kids up for the rest of their lives purely because his wife didn't know how to keep her legs together? It's the epitome of selfishness.

And I agree wholeheartedly about the suicide stuff. Look, people. Life's tough. You aren't the only person that has had to go through some crap. Stop your whining and deal with it, you selfish puss bag.

When "love" is involved, people don't think logically. Thats why it NEVER pays to cheat on your spouse. A few minutes of "fun" for what? A lifetime of pain.
NOT worth it.

Great call on the gunpowder residue, 68MD -- I hadn't thought of that. Though if the shots were from pointblank range, they could both have GSR on their skin. And thanks to Formo for pointing out that there was only one shot to the head -- I had misread the sentence. (It was 2:30 in the morning.) As for the door being locked, I agree that it looks like an "inside job," but there are other possible explanations.

With gun powder residue, there may be some on both of them, but there will only be GPR on the hand of the shooter. So that will show which one fired the shots.

Good call.

I hope, for his kids' sake, McNair had a good life insurance policy.

And that he didn't blow all the money he made on women.
His kids are what matters now.
So many make alot of money, and spend accordingly.

Yep. I make less than $10,000 a year right now and I'm virtually debt free (other than a few student loans my wife brought into the marriage). There are plenty of millionaire celebrities who are bankrupt. It's amazing.

I know Non......it amazes me how fast they can spend in a day what i could live on for years.
Look at Michael Jackson. They followed him for one day, and he spent over 6 million dollars buying crap. Big vases, paintings, all kinds of non essential junk. I mean, whats the SENSE in that? And they say he was broke, or highly in debt when he died. All he would have had to do was THINK even a LITTLE bit, and he could have left his kids more money then anyone would ever need. Although now his recordings and stuff will make them wealthy anyway.
I just could never undesrstand that lifestyle. Of course i'll never be rich, so i never WILL understand it.
