Damn, do you have a link? I haven't seen anything about a wife's comment on the news here.
Love triangles are always dicey propositions. You can't invest too much into them; you have to be able to get in and get out with a minimum of mess. Do we know yet whether McNair owned the condominium? Last I heard the police hadn't released this information. If he did, I think he was a freaking dumbass. I would never buy a gift like that (or any gift, for that matter) for a woman who wasn't my wife. That's just asking for trouble.
But nothing justifies murder. I've never understood murder over sex. Like all those idiots who come home from Iraq, find their spouse cheating, and then kill her and themselves. What's the point? There are 6 billion people in this world, roughly half of whom are of the opposite sex. Why ruin your life over someone who obviously isn't worth it? Why not let her go her miserable way and find someone else who actually wants you? No one -- and I mean NO ONE -- in this world is worth killing yourself over.
When we were stationed at Fort Bragg, we actually had a man in my wife's unit who experienced this scenario. He came home from deployment, found his wife in bed with another man, and proceeded to shoot her and then himself
in front of their kids! WHY??? How could anyone justify potentially fucking his kids up for the rest of their lives purely because his wife didn't know how to keep her legs together? It's the epitome of selfishness.
