We've seen a lot of cranky players and moody interviews recently. Kampman's not happy with the scheme, the other Aaron just sounds pissed, Al Harris keeps getting harassed with zone questions.

The media is obviously trying to find some good storys, but are they taking this too far for the Packers players? They try to get all kinds of stuff out of them with these leading questions and force opinions onto them that the players don't support.

First off is Al Harris. The man has been a dominating corner his entire GB career. He doesn't have the straight line speed, but he has everything else. Why would a zone defense not work for him? And how often does he have to answer these same question. He sure seems to be sick of it himself.

Almost from the moment Capers was hired in January, there were questions about whether Harris, a predominantly man-to-man cornerback throughout his 11-year NFL career, would be able to succeed in playing in a defense that is defined largely by zone coverages.

During last weeks organized team activities, Harris couldnt have been much more defiant in his response to those charges.

Who says that? Harris said. I havent heard one scout say that. Just for your knowledge, when you ask these types of questions, zone is much easier to play than man. Thats the way it is. Thats why they call it man and zone.

When asked if he isnt suited to play zone, Harris responded: Why, why wouldnt it suit me? Were not hacks here. Were pros. Man, Im a corner. There isnt a technique that I havent played.

I would be quite agitated as well. You do nothing than ply your heart (or spleen) out and the media comes knocking on your door when they think to have found something you CANT do.

Second off is Kampman. Theres no doubt in my mind that hes unhappy about something. No one knows exactly why, though. Of course, youre free to ask about this. It is slightly odd that a player who reaches out to the fans the way that Kampman does all of a sudden doesnt want to talk anymore, but do you really have to ask the same question 20 times in one interview? It was pretty obvious that he wasnt going to release anything after the first time. Maybe 2 if youre pushing it.

Lastly, Aaron Rodgers. He gave an interview in where said some less than flattering things about Kampman. Nothing too bad, but maybe something that he shouldnt have gone public with. Of course, this is his own fault, but one can imagine that he mightve gotten slightly annoyed by the leading question these reporters kept asking. Constantly being asked questions about your team mate and a defense, while youre the QB and the offense, might not make you the happiest man in the world. Hence, the cranky attitude in that same interview.

The thing that is getting most clear, is that the media is all about the money in this day and age. The constant flow of people going to news sites when you have some juicy rumor beats out reporting on real things.

Here some feel good stuff, some pieces that dont get the attention they deserve.

Just Harrell is feeling good about the defense. A good kid and he deserves to stay healthy this year.

It just gets slightly annoying. Don't get me wrong, I'm not boycotting the media or something. I watch the news and all that. The sports media has been centered about getting the big story more than reporting real stuff.

I mean, just look at the TO saga. He got all this attention because he wasn't present the first day at voluntary mini camp.

I'm already anti trusting the media. I mean they claimed Kampman is unhappy about the scheme which might be true but he seemed more upset with the media when I watched the interview kinda like Harris is upset with the media because they said he can't make the switch. They've also said Kampman can't make the switch.

Then the media has also reported that Collins lied about having a family issue and then soon after his father died.

Driver was reportedly to holding out for a new contract when he's was really out for family issues (some one on his wife side of the family died and his daughter graduated or something like that and Packers are being said to be rearranging the money in the contract).

It was also reported before the draft that B.J. Raji has drugs in his system at the combine and Clay Matthews were found to be on steroids. Which were later proven to be false reports.

These are just some stories that were ether made up and/or not check out to be proven if they have any truth behind them.

And it's not just Packers... it's not just the NFL.... it's not just sports....

IT'S ALL MEDIA ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!

There is VERY VERY VERY little fact checking and honor of making sure the story is right.

I mean if one person reports it then another place picks it up and reports it and another and another until they all report it and that doesn't mean it has to have any truth to it behind it.

This is true for all media...

Forgot the Raji, Driver and Collins stuff. It's in the same line though. I really don't like speculative stuff based on nothing while they're reporting it as if it where facts.

It's not reporting NEWS anymore, it's all about getting the "scoop".
And if you don't get it, you make it up.
Or maybe you say something to tick off the player, THEN turn on your tape recorder, making the guy look like a jerk.

Wisconsin Media is terrible when it comes to the Packers.

The Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers aren't criticized because expectations are so low. Even when Milwaukee blew it in 07 against the Cubs, they weren't heavily criticized for it.

If Ned Yost coached the Packers he would've been canned long before he was. Even Ken Macha right now has made some bonehead mistakes in the way he approaches late innings and McCarthy on the flip side gets heavily criticized for his bonehead calls late.

Obviously two different sports that are apples and oranges but the constant is the media.

Wisconsin is Packer country. There for the media will continue to find scoops or stretch the truth when it comes to Green Bay. They want a good story. All is well is not a good story especially now.

Every year this same stuff happens. So and so is upset and so and so says one thing and so and so holds-out.

Every year everyone normally comes together before the season starts and the team is intact by Week One. Usually the team is intact by training camp.

It's all hearsay right now.

To me the only big stories is the adjustment and injuries. I actually think Nick Collins is a bit of a story now as it's starting to become more clear that he's not just away due to family matters.

This Driver and Kampman vs. Rodgers stuff is just Green Bay trying to write a drama series for all of us.

Sad thing is that people are actually buying into it. They do every year.
