I would expect him to be unhappy. He was dominant as an end and now he has to try to master another position.

The Media is just doing thier job. We'll see if Kampy he can adjust

The media is over blowing this one more than the Driver one. At least their is substance to the Driver story, but this one is ridiculous. He's not talking so he must be trouble. What???? Can you give me a source or is it just because you're not getting the story you want.

I'm sure Kampman isn't as comfortable in this system, but I'm sure a lot of guys aren't. Al Harris for example will be playing off man

The bottom line is Kampman probably doesn't have a problem against a switch. He probably doesn't like the timing. He's in a contract year and he likely would've put up double digit sack totals this year in GB's old system.

Beyond that I can't see a reason why Kampman would be causing any sort of chaos. He's not going to be traded. He would've by now. He's not going to be a locker room problem and he's there working out.

This is a non story unless he comes out and says otherwise.

I don't see why he was moved to LB anyway. I would think he would be better at DE than Pickett because of his athleticism and experience at the position, but I guess I don't know enough about an effective 3-4 to make a valid argument. Have him, Raji/Pickett, and Jenkins on the line and have Chillar, Hawk, Matthews, and Barnett starting.

I just feel uneasy right now thinking about him covering AP or a TE like Greg Olsen.

He was moved to the outside because he can get more pressure on the outside than the inside. Keep in mind the 3 - 4 base is a base set, not a every down set as well. There will be a lot of times where he will be lined up at end. When we go to a Nickel or Dime he'll be on the end.

To small to be a DE and plus he's the best pass rusher. You need to put him in the position where he can rush the passer and that's OLB.

Basically this is the job of a 3-4 end.

1. Eat up blockers

2. Stop the run

If they can give you a pass rush then that's a bonus. 5 sacks from a 3-4 DE is actually a lot. Most get under. Basically treat that position like a DT in the 4-3.

Kampman's to small and would be a waste of talent at 3-4 DE. He's best suited for LOLB in this new hybrid scheme, and it's not like he's going to be asked to play in space every down.

Working out the kinks in these OTAs and mini-camps are what they're made for. You hope he'll have most of them worked out by the end of training camp, but I don't think anyone should doubt Kampman showing up to every practice and giving it his all at a new and somewhat unfamiliar position.

Thanks for the info! I'm starting to understand it better now, I like using 3-4 when I play Madden because of all the different blitz's ha, anyway.

Aaron Kamp"isthe"man is one of my favorite players on the team and I hated hearing about him not being comfortable in the new scheme and was afraid something may be done with him. I'm glad he's in there learning it and seems eager to learn from what the coaches say and is apparently learining from one of the best.

MM says in his press conference that he thinks Kampman will do better in the new scheme. He is also working with both dom and kevin.

There comes a point where the fans have to let go and let the coaches do their job. That way we can see the final outcome come aug-sept.

JSOnline has degenerated into something with little more substance than a blog. I don't know how the editor has been able to keep his job, allowing such a stream of low-quality fluff to issue forth from a supposedly prestigious paper. And their unmoderated comments are almost as troll-ridden as the ones at PackersNews.com. I don't pay much attention to either site anymore.

I want a pissed off Kampman. Let him wreak havoc on ballcarriers and QB's ... let'em have it Kampman!!

I think, I hope, he realizes that this is probably going to be the best thing for him, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. One thing that often gets overlooked is that 3-4 is our base defense but when teams go in the sub, or they bring in a third receiver, were going to be in a four-man line most of the time, so hes going to have his hand down. So hes not going to be standing up as much as people think he is.

dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
