The amount of things you've seen and done is amazing, Foster-Dave.

Anyway, that sucks. You guys have to go to court when caught speeding? Or just when you trying to appeal the case? I do know some story's of classmates having to go to the 'cantonrechter'. That's nothing more than a small-time judge and court. But in those cases, they where riding on scooters that where going 120 KM/H (75 MP/H). Usually, you don't go to court though. Just pay the bill and get on with it.

Certain things you do not have to go to court for, Rock. In most minor traffic incidences, the cop writes the ticket with the amount of the fine you can opt to just go ahead and pay. Down in Va.--had my wife got pulled over there--she would not have been afforded that option, because down there 21mph over the speed limit is considered reckless driving and she would have been required to go to court. Up here, it is the discretion of the officer regarding the circumstances. (They practically make the shit up as they go, here)

She went to court here because she wanted to fight the ticket. The bitch about that is you still have to send the $$ on the ticket in this particular jurisdiction (like I said, they make shit up as they go around here--my ticket in Lebanon I just did not pay-- that was the rules there)

So here her "fine" was a "deposit". She then received a court summons...mandatory attendance under penalty of yet another offense, specifically, contempt of court---you go to jail for that one...

Had she walked into that courtroom this am. -- She faced anything from it getting thrown out of court completely to a reckless driving conviction--- which is bad---very bad---

...much worse than a simple speeding ticket. A little confused?

This is a confusing place.

Just got back.

Got it knocked down to 5 over.

No points. Would have been 4. Pretty good story. Gotta take my kid to a doc's visit.

Will tell story when I get back.

Another kangaroo court. (Mayberry-type)

This time worked to the advantage. I'll explain later.

She is giddy with relief.

If you have a clean record you will just about always get things reduced.

Your original post, all your points-of-issue would not stand up in court.

Watch for your insurance rates to go up. :buzzsaw:
