Everyone could of taken Matt Cassel.

I also like Marlin Jackson over Aaron Rodgers. Yeah that's why Indy might not resign him this year and draft a corner to replace him. That's just ridiculous.

Heath Miller has never caught 50 passes in a season. Lee is about on the same level. Miller a little better.

Roddy White only has two good seasons. He's like Greg Jennings then. Have to use the same logic.

Everyone could have taken Frank Gore too.

Thompson isn't perfect like some think. I'd say a B for the first two drafts and an Incomplete that is looking more like a D for the last two, but he's not ridiculously bad like some make him out to be either.

For better or for worse, dhpackr, Rodgers is locked up for megabucks with a long-term contract, so he IS our franchise quarterback.

And anyone who isn't willing to give Rodgers his due, after he put out the second-best rookie campaign of any quarterback in NFL history, is just wilfully blind.

One small problem with your comment NON and that would be true if Rodgers was a rookie. I don't know how 9-16 for 65 yards and an INT would be classified the 2nd best rookie season in history?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Claiming that he spent 3 years sitting behind a quarterback (who once scornfully said it wasn't his job to teach his backup) and that means he somehow has enough experience to avoid rookie mistakes is ridiculous. To say he wasn't a rookie, while technically accurate, is splitting hairs. In terms of real-game playing experience, that's exactly what he was.

Well than who had the better season than him because looking at the likes of Culpeppers stats of 3937 yds 33tds and 16 ints is a tad better i think, Hasselback was 3841 yds 26tds 15 ints in his 5th year in the league but 1st time he started 16 games. Ok heres another one 4211 yards, 36 tds 19ints in his 1st time starting 16 games but it was actually his 5th year in the league. So really i don't see how you can say hes a rookie? Sorry just don't see it.

Just wanted to add another interesting stat i found amazing. Big Ben started 16 games only once in his career and that was this year, i thought that was amazing.

Ok i found by far the best season for a qb that started all 16 games for the 1st time. 5084 yards 48 tds and 17 ints. It was his 2nd year in the league.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

What difference does it make???
Geez.....the argumant of whether it was AR's "rookie" or 4th year.
Fact is, he had a great QB rating, great TD to INT ratio, and the loses being pinned on him are just plain wrong.
He did his job. He can't go out and tackle on D or special teams to stop the other teams. He doesn't kick field goals.
The guy did his job, and did it better then 2/3rd's of the QB's in the NFL.
Those are the facts.
What year he's in doesn't matter. It was his first as a starter, and he did great.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team let him (and us) down.

I find it pretty odd than I actually agree with you. Rodgers was no rookie this season. I hate it when people bring up the term "first year as a starter". Bottom line is, this was his third year, and should be judged as any other QB in his fourth year.

DISCLAIMER: I do think that Aaron Rodgers is our franchise QB, and will do many great things in the future.

Sorry cheesey but your making it sound like Rodgers did no wrong and that has been beaten to death the team lost plain and simple we win as a team and lose as a team. I will once again say the qb rating is a bs stat it all depends on the system. A qb with a west coast offense will have a better qb rating than someone that plays in a wide open offense. So like i said i don't believe in those small stats. Same with the completion percentage i mean if you dump off little 2 yard passes 16 times a game you will look like the best qb in the league by that stat.

I agree. You can't say he's a rookie. He's been in a proffesional franchise, system and training schedule for several years now.

I do think that it's unfair to see him as just a 4th year player. He doesn't have the starting experience by far. I mean, there's alot to be said about experience and he's lacking pretty much all of it. The rhythm of a game, working with the blitz from an unknown DC. Just facing entirely different defences than the Packers'.

He should just be seen as a first year starter. If you look at it like that, he didn't a pretty damn great job.

Rodgers was tied for first in the league in completions over 40 yards. And he was 5th in the league in 20+ yard completions. He threw the ball deep, a lot, with good success.
