Heh, if Michael Crabtree falls to us at #9, we damn well better take him. :D

We used to say that wouldnt happen but he has been sliding down some mock drafts and if he is there at #9 Ted Thompson better draft him. He is by far alot better then Nelson and Jones before he even steps on the field and he will be a force in the NFL for whoever he plays for. Plus it would be nice to have a stud to replace Jennings if we have to.

I agree, but I'm thinking more in the lines that GB could replace Donald Driver sooner rather than later.

I would draft Crabtree and shop James Jones. Probably could get a 4th and a 7th for him.

I like that idea. However, we would have to then address the O-Line and D-Line later in the draft. Even then are those guys going to make the immediate impact we need?

My play if Crabtree is there would be to trade Detroit for their #20 and #33. I say this because this is what the Lions do. Draft WR's in round 1.

It's in their blood. Plus, if they do take Stafford a Stafford to Crabtree combo down the road would be awesome.

We then drop back and take Jerry at #20, English or Barwin at #33, and Merrideth at #41.

In the third we take a Ron Brace type and one of the CB's left with our last 3rd rounder.

Everybody can go home happy for Easter now.

Why besides the Lions do you think would be willing to strike a quality trade for Crabtree?

It was in Matt Millens blood and he's gone. That said I would be OK with Crabtree or the trade. I'm a firm believer in BPA. Obviously, if the player are close in value take the position of need. Just think where we would be if Thompson drafted for need when Rodger was available.

But that's the thing: We DID need Rodgers. By that time, Favre had been vacillating for years, and no one knew when he'd finally decide to hang up the cleats. It was the perfect time to draft at a bargain price a prospect who at one time had been projected to go possibly as high as #1.

You are right. But not many people felt that way including a number of "experts".

I was delighted with the pick. But then again, I was delighted with the picks of Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn.

I remember being drunk off my ass on free beer at Breast Cancer Awareness Fest when they announced the Brohm pick. I started screaming and yelling for joy. I thought it was an amazing idea.

Maybe Im easy to please. 😉

I'm OK with those picks also. Flynn looks like he can develop into a good backup or better, great value a #7 I believe. Brohm could still get us a good trade for a position of need or a draft choice, especially if he shows good improvement in pre season. Some teams had him rated the #1 QB his junior year. If a couple of those teams are still enamored with hime like Wolf was with Favre, who know what transpires.

no, Ted Thompson is not good at drafting. i am not going to exclaim a. rodgers as a franchise qb, after one season.

nor would i consider a wr who in two seasons has not played all 16 games an immortal god.

i think there is a tackle named Marcus Mcneil who was drafted after colledge that is going to have a much better career than colledge.

if popinga was so talented, then why did we get chillar in free agency?? it was to address popinga's weaknesses!

let's look at the players we could have drafted instead of rodgers,
heath miller
marlin Jackson
rodddy white
frank gore
and Ted Thompson could have drafted matt cassell also.

i hope brandon jackson challenges ryan grant for a starter position on the offense, otherwise you could label him an avg third down back.

after four seasons and a losing record, i think it shows Ted Thompson ability to draft the BPA.

beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
    dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
    Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
