There isn't a player on the Packers that doesn't need to improve his game. Maybe Charles Woodson, he's pretty stellar throughout as is Aaron Kampman.

Minnesota: LATE 4th quarter, Big time throw to Driver down the middle for 19, two runs and short pass completion and Crosby misses the FG.

(this is towards MAsspackerfan and go.pack.go) why don't you guys stick to the topic? You just wait to find a way to defend your guy. I said he wasn't over rated in my mind because i didn't expect much from him and he played decent.
But then again i know you don't have me ignored lol. I'm also surprised how noone else has mentioned the FO or HC.

If anything Arod is underrated in my opinion.

Carolina Game: One of the best 2nd halves any Green Bay QB has had in a LONG time. Bringing up a last ditch INT is a joke.

Houston Game: late 4th quarter, 59 yard pass to Driver. Grant runs the ball insid the 5 only to get a phantom hold bringing the ball back followed by a sack robbing the Pack of a sure win.

Chicago: LATE 4th quarter, CLUTCH 3rd down nine yard completion to Jones when out of FG range. Three plays later from the 20 freaking yrd line the FG is blocked.

Minnesota: LATE 4th quarter, Big time throw to Driver down the middle for 19, two runs and short pass completion and Crosby misses the FG.

This was crunch time stuff when the team needed it. We should have won these games then and there. When it was time he delivered and if you look at how we lost the ball was not in his hands.

What I look for is what does the guy do when it's REALLY on the line and not after that when your in a hopeless position deep in your own territory and the team has already blown the chance to win.

This guy is cool with three, four minutes to go, doesn't panic, and puts the ball where it needs to be, and we will win a lot of Football games with him as long as the rest of the team doesn't fall apart around him.

I hope Rodgers doesn't take this approach otherwise GB could be in big trouble. Rodgers is in to much of a hurry with two minutes left. He needs to first realize that two minutes is along time. He hasn't' done that in a game yet. His picks have constantly come with plenty of time left on the clock.

The Minnesota game saw Rodgers throw a pass that was deflected into Driver's hands. In other words it was lucky. None the less, Rodgers also couldn't drive the team more than that. A 53 yard kick is not an easy task. Actually, Rodgers played just an awful game too. That was by far the worse of his one year career so far.

There was also still time in the Carolina game. The pick came with time left on the clock. It wasn't a last ditch effort, although I agree that he was outstanding in the second half and I really think Rodgers played as good as a game as he played all year.

He threw a poor pick against Atlanta. Another one against Jacksonville.

The Chicago game wasn't much better. James Jones made a great catch and kind of bailed him out. Sometimes that happens though and Crosby should have made that kick.

This isn't bashing, but it's constructive criticism and something Rodgers needs to improve.

Porky, c'mon man. Your getting a little far out there on the harshness.

In the Carolina game he got the ball back with 1:24 from our own damn 17 yard line. That's plenty of time? How many games is ANY TEAM or ANY QB going to pull out in that situation? Next to none.

I was at the Jacksonville game. Jacksonville had scored the go-ahead points had all the momentum, and we get the ball back on the SIXTEEN yard line with a buck fifty and no time outs. He throws three straight completions for a total of thirty yards because that's all they were giving the guy. There was no choice at that point other than to do what EVERY QB ends up doing in that case and thats HOPE for a play because your down to 40 seconds and ten yard completions at that point, down 4 and not yet to the 50, aint going to cut it.

In the Vikes game where you state it "he didn't move them further" after the 19 yard completion to Driver the call was Grant run (-1) Grant run (4) quick slant to Driver (3). I don't see how you put the play calling in that sequence on him. About him playing his worst game. What about a little blocking. Clifton got schooled for 4 quarters and Rodgers was lucky to get out of there alive.

I do agree he made a bad pick in the Atlanta game. What I am pointing out here is that these games where he did do what he needed to do came AFTER that game and I did not see him rushing the ball or the game when he had a REASONABLE shot at bringing the team down to score.

But the Carolina and Jacksonville games at the end? No way. Your going to lose 19 out of 20 of those.

I wonder if I would get chewed out by anyone for saying I think Nick Barnett is overrated....at his current position.

But I do think he would be better in another position.

"longtimefan" wrote:

Not by me.. Above average in pursuit and coverage, but in the box the guy is a liability in getting off blocks.. Not real stout at the point of attack.

In the 4-3 he should have been a WIL to take advantage of his speed and quickness.. I have a hard time projecting him successful in the 3-4.

Not stout enough inside and has little in terms of pass rushing moves..

Shall be interesting where he fits.

I like Barnett...don't get me wrong. He frustrated me alot the past few seasons with his idiotic penalties. I think if he doesn't thrive in the 3-4 (I agree that he won't) we get a very good trade for him.

Rodgers needs:
An O-line that can protect him for more then 3 seconds before he has to run for his life.
Like was already said........I was shocked he made it through the year without getting killed. IF they can get him some protection, and SOME kind of running game, he should be in the top tier of QB's.
He has the weapons......but NEEDS time for those guys to get open.
If Aaron Rodgers had to play against our D last year, he would have thrown 40 TD's easily. We had virtually NO pressure on opposing QB's.

I just wanted to throw in a little advise to Mr Rodgers for those last minute drives. A vet qb used to always say in his prime that the best way to run a 2 minute drive was to just move the chains and the rest will work out. Yes that was from our former qb. I think that is some great advice if you watch the Elways and Montanas thats what they did. Just keep the chains moving you don't need the big chunk.

I just hope this team wins this year, like Zero said this whole team needs to improve.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Rodgers definitely went for the knock out punch a couple of times late, and ended up hitting himself in the jaw. I think he'll rein it in a little bit in the future, especially with the YAC our receivers are capable of.

And how about SOME SCREENS TO JACKSON on those late drives?? We need to use the screen pass more...

As in our RB coach and SB wnning RB Bennett or the MLB Barnett?

I'm gonna go with the MLB and I'm wondering, how did all of you think about him before this last season. I mean, with the D-line not being able to stop the run and the O-linemen being able to push em back 4 yards, we needed some LBs that could shed block. Obviously, they couldn't, especially Barnett.

The season before this one though, the D-line was overpowering and Barnett could just come up and make the tackle. Both he and Hawk seemed like great players to me. Or am I looking at this the wrong way?
