Greg Jennings, Aaron Kampman, Nick Collins, Daryn Colledge, Jason Spitz, Ryan Pickett, Chad Clifton, Brandon Chillar and Johnny Jolly are all free agents. There pretty much all starters ... and people seem to want to spend the money that we have to get FA's, well what's the point of signing new players if all our players will eventually leave when there contracts up due to the reason we used up our cap. Anyways don't want to turn this into a long Ted Thompson / Cap / Brett Favre fight lool...

So how many of these guys will be back? How much you think they're looking for approx.

Jennings and Kampman will be back, so long as Kamp does ok with the new base scheme.

Unfortunately, I've read somewhere that Ted Thompson puts a pretty low value on the safety position. I'd be surprised, but very happy if Nick got an extension this year.

If Collins plays at the level he did last year he will get a contract. Ted Thompson may not love the safety position but I'd like to think he'd procure a pro bowler.

ya lots of guys with their contract coming up. Why I like the packers position with their cap room.

Although I wouldnt mind a Dline addition via FA.

I think it totally depends on who we get in the draft. If we pick Raji, Pickett or Jolly are expendable although one of them would probably get a new deal with the Packers, most likely Jolly.

Spitz will probably get a new deal because he is versatile and is moving to center this year.

Colledge will also get a new deal since the team seems pretty set with him being the successor to Clifton.

Kampman, Jennings, and Collins seem to be locks to get new deals as long as the Packers are willing to pay them what they are worth.

However, I think Greg Jennings won't be able to reach FA due to the cap situation at the end of the season because only 6 year vets and above will be allowed to become free agents. (could be wrong, but i doubt it 🙂 )

Uncapped year means six years of playing service is required to become a free agent.

That means Jennings, Spitz, Colledge, and Collins will be back. Collins might be an RFA though. I'm not 100% sure though because I am not an expert on the rules.

None the less I think Pickett, Chillar, and Clifton are probably gone pending what they do this season.

If it is a capped season then I expect Jennings, Collins, and Kampman to be all back. I think Green bay will extend one or two players before the start of free agency. I can't see Spitz and Colledge getting a lot on the open market. I think GB probably extends Spitz and eventually moves him to center.

Willie Wood/Packers, Mel Blout/Steelers, Ronnie Lott/49'ers, Tatum/Raiders, Atwater/Broncos, Harrison/Patriots, Dawkins/Philly Polamalu/Steelers, Butler/Packers are just a few that come to mind. Being strong up the middle important.

Yup safeties are in fact important ... anyhow I'm sure he will re-sign Collins - Jennings for sure. Kamp's decision will be on if he could adapt to the new scheme or not.

I knwo Collins was a pro-bowler, but anyone else here have doubts about him? I'm not sold on the guy. He had a good year, but don't forget about the year before when he was on everyone's shit list. Not sold on one year wonder, will wait and evaluate after this year.
