With Garcia free, are Bears interested?

...Though Orton is expected to start for the Bears in 2009, the soon-to-be free agent Grossman likely wont return.

While the team already has signed Brett Basanez during the offseason, Bears GM Jerry Angelo has implied that he wants another veteran quarterback, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Garcia, 38, could be the player to fill that role, though he has expressed a desire to start.

I hope they won't sign him. Although if they do actually want to go forward with Neckbeard *Crosses fingers* Garcia won't want to go there and the Bears will be stuck with a sucky QB even longer.

Garcia would struggle terribly in Chicago.

Their TEs made Orton look ok. They have quite a duo at that position.

For the WR... I have no idea. Throw some money at Bryant? Garcia and him played together at TB and Bryant had a pretty great year.

They're a WR and QB away from going to the SB again if you ask me. Their playmakers on defense aren't getting any younger though.

I doubt this will happen. Garcia has the talent to start, and why would any QB want to do that in Chicago? Yeah, they have good TEs, but look at their receivers.

Although, they will probably get Hakeem Nicks (WR - UNC) in the draft. And that won't be a good thing.

Garcia doesn't have the arm to succeed in windy soldier field.

The latest i heard on Nfl network was he could be going to Minn., it would be a great fit for him. He won't have to carry the team just hand it off to AP and occasionally pass. He barely throws INTS so they figure he would be perfect plus he would play 1/2 the games in the dome.

PS I found the remote so i was able to change the channel from espn lol
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

That would be pretty damn scary. I think I'd rather see him playing in Chicago than in Minnesota.

Minnesota becomes an instant SB contendor. They have pretty much everything in place and if injury's won't stop them (AP especially), I actually see them make it pretty far in the play-offs this way.

It might be all this hype, but the division actually seems to be going somewhere though. I can see 3 winning records if the upwards spyral continues.

Ok, nvm that. Taking Bryant would be a great lure for Garcia, but the bucs just tagged him.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
