He was great during the pre-season. I'd like to see him a battle a roster spot this year, and then over-take Grant as the starter. I loved watching him play.

Funny how you seem to forget about last season, and Grant had 1200 yards this year. I hate it when people think that Grant isn't starting material, when he's one of the premeir backs in this league.

I agree to an extent and disagree, Yes I agree Grant is Definitely starting material, This coming season he is going to fully establish that as long as he stays healthy IMO. I don't think he's a premier back in this league though at least not yet, Guys like Adrian Peterson, DeAngelo Williams, Michael Turner, etc were the real Premier backs this year, Grant isn't too far off but he needs to get his YPC back up and get some of those game breaking runs going again. Hopefully this coming season the offensive line finally takes that step in the runblocking department and we see a 1600-1800 yard rushing season from our backs.

Just a little side note to the guys you named and that is they are all in pretty much a 2 back system. AP has Taylor that comes in on passing downs, Turner has Norwood, and Williams has Stewart.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

1200 yards isn't really that great when thats pretty much all you got at RB position. That comes out to about 75 yards a game. Thats not much.

Back when it was a 14 game season, 1200 yards was more impressive.
Also you have to consider how many 'big" game changing runs he had. I can't think of one this past season. Plus a low yards per carry average.
I'm not saying he;s lousy, just that his production didn't seem very good to me at least.

I think you misinterpreted my post there. I didn't mean Grant is not starting material, and I do think he should start next year. But in my post I meant Lumpkin would develop into a better back, because I like his running style, much more so than Grant's (not that I don't think Grant would is better or would give us a better chance to win)

He had some "game changing" runs. Against the Vikings in Week 1, he had that 50+ yard run that got us inside the 5 yard line which set up the deciding TD. Against the Bears, he had a 35 yard run at the beginning of the game which set the tone for the rest of the game.

Lumpkin looked great in Training camp. I went for a couple days last year and there was something about his running style that looked like he just belonged. He ran tough and kept his pad level low (just like MM likes). I had know idea who he was then but he definitely stood out the same way Jordy Nelson did.

GBs 1,2,3 will be Grant, Jackson, and Lumpkin. The only change to that would be if Ted picks somebody up and and beats him out of that #3 spot. RBs always get hurt so I could see Lumpkin showing us a thing or 2.

I could see Jackson beating out Grant for the #1 spot.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
