When you have a deep threat, this is some of the benefits. Kind of a bummer he's going to be out a week "or so".

He can block in both the run and the pass game.
He is a decoy by taking a defender or two deep.
He can catch the ball. I wish he did a better job at catching the balls he is thrown but the catch percentage for the deeper passes is going to be lower.

How valuable Watson is depends on the plays called. I suppose the question becomes are they utilizing him to his fullest potential. Games 2 and 3, probably not.

If he is fast I wonder why he is not more of a part in the run game. He had 7 carries for an 11.4 average in 22. Then only 4 carries for 2.8 yards in 23. Was that his fault, the blocking, scheme or simply a lack of attempts? This year no carries at all even with a run heavy game 2.

I'm surprised we didn't see more Melton (at least that I noticed) as he seemed to replace Watson pretty well with the deep routes last year.

And Wicks seemed to have a lot of drops.
