Monday has been a wild day at the running back position.

The Green Bay Packers have been at the center of it all. After reportedly agreeing to a contract with free agent running back Josh Jacobs, the team released veteran Aaron Jones, per multiple reports:

With A.J. Dillon also hitting free agency, Green Bay's running back room is going to have a completely new look during the 2024 season.

Wow...didn't see that coming.

They have alot tied up in the RB position with Jacobs and Jones.....

It is a decent RB draft as well

Well this day has been a valley of emotions. From sad hearing about Bakh being cut, to excited about Jacobs signing, thinking about the potential of Jacobs and Jones in the same backfield to now sadness at seeing Jones get cut.

Aaron Jones wants to be back. I think he'll test free agency but ultimately return. Imo

so how much cap space did cutting Jones clear up? If I am reading spotrac correctly, nothing.

Sorry that Jones had to go. With his cap hit everyone knew it was coming. The RB market doesn't merit more than 10 mil for most of them. There are only 8 RB with an AAV over $10. Jones and Jacobs are included in that group.
