My answer would still be no. I think what's happening is that Kraft is doing all the nuts & bolts/dirty work stuff that DeGuara was supposed to be doing (and failing) like backside blocking, chip blocking, safety valve dump offs etc.

George Kittle is BY FAR the best TE in football. He blocks first, receives second. If any of you noticed during the 49ers dismantling of Philly on Sunday afternoon he was blocking on all the key runs and many of the passes.

The running game is better with Kraft. Correlation is not always causation, but usually is an indication of relation leading to manifestation. A very good observation by Zero2Cool.

The run blocking has improved, but it's not because Kraft playing instead of Musgrave.

Kraft has been a better pass blocker though, and it's not remotely close. But TEs rarely pass block.

Not saying Musgrave is good as run blocking, but Kraft hasn't been good either (in order of their run blocking grade.

Notes: 65.0 is considered average, and all Packers TEs are below 59.0, Musgrave is the best.

One also should look at snap counts, as PFF does it based on big picture, not on pre-snap basis, so someone with a ton of snaps might have a worse grade but be better in a per-snap basis, like Kraft might be better than Dugara and Sims despite Kraft having a worse grade.

But Sims has a -12.2 grade (52.8-65.0) on 57 snaps which is a grade of -0.21 per run blocking play. Whole Kraft has a -16.7 grade on 149 snaps, which is a grade of -0.11 per run blocking play. And Dugara has a -0.14. So Kraft is better per play, than Sims and Dugara, despite having a worse grade.

But Musgrave and Kraft have a similar snap counts so that's not a factor.

Looking at Kraft grades per game

Kraft had 3 better games recently, but also 3 horrible games too. He's much more up and down from one game to the next.

Musgrave is more consistent from game to game. No games below 49.0 and only two games below 55.0. But also with three games above 65.0

I wouldn't be surprised if Kraft becomes the better blocker, but right now he's too inconsistent in that area.

So, I guess that settles it. We are all agreeing that the Packers offense executes more efficiently with Tucker Kraft at TE than it did with Luke Musgrave. 🤣🤣

Is it better with Kraft, yeah, but it has absolutely nothing to directly do with Kraft, he just happened to be there.

Sorry, PFF grades have very little bearing compared to what my old eyes can tell me.

I wonder how many are reading Better with Kraft and twisting it into Better because of Kraft.

But in your way of talking about it, I'd go bigger and say that the Packers have been better with Red. Gordon "Red" Batty is in his 30th season as equipment manager of the Green Bay Packers.  Packers have been a hell lot better with Red as equipment manager.
