Where in the video was 3 TEs ever mentioned? I saw it said here, but I it wasn't ever said the video... in fact only place I hear offensive personnel mentioned, LaFleaur says Steelers are a big 11 personal which is only 1 TE, not 3 TEs.

82 year old women still lives in pre-2010 football, before those CBA rule changes, that changed the game.

LaFleaur knows exactly what he was talking about in modern football.

Nickel Defense are 4-2 defense with 4 down linemen, on all 32 teams across the league.

3-4 OLBers and 4-3 DE in the modern game are the almost the same exact roles, 3-4 OLBers MIGHT drop into coverage a bit more, depending on which version of the 3-4 it is.

The 3-4 Defense with the lighter OLBers and the totally two gapping up front got phased out with the 2010 CBA practice rule changes.

In the 3-4 DE one gap, which is still around, the OLBers needed to be heavier and the Packers OLBers are.

Those massive LDEs that were mainly to defend the run... they're not even a quarter as popular as they used to be and if they're good enough they're still around, but usually only as backups.

LaFleur knows exactly what he's talking about modern NFL

I am of course joking. I love your posts Beast even when you are wrong, which is rare.

They may have changed rules, but the have not changed the rules of physics.

Although the points you are making are largely correct, they are not in sync with the gist of the suggestion in the question, or the to the game situation.

For MLF to insist that somehow it is ok to be in a 4 (light)-2-5, when an offense is in a 3 tight end set is simply moronic unless the situation is 2nd and long or 3rd and long situation, for all the reasons I provided above. Yes all teams across the league have this package, they don't run it against a 13 package.

Further, even if MLF will not acknowledge that he could have been heavier with the 4 linemen, at the very least he could have acknowledged that the 5 DB's were a mistake give their personnel package.

Go Packers!!!!

Earlier LaFleaur said the Steelers run mostly run 11 personnel which is 1 RB, 1 TE ... So I don't understand how we believe that LaFleaur was talking about 3 TEs. And the reporter didn't ask about 3 TE set...

Again, you are correct if you assume that LaFleaur is talking about 13 personnel, but I see no reason to assume LaFleaur is talking about 13... especially considering most teams rarely run 13 (other than the Ravens under their now former offensive coordinator). I think most teams run 11, which is what LaFleaur mentioned the Steelers run most of.
