Um, I think some would claim he did with the release of Kumerow. Whom Rodgers has stated as the 2nd best receiver on the team at the time. Where Cobb is his best friend and Rodgers probably considers him among the best on the team.

Gute and Aaron's relationship is a TON different now than it was at the beginning of last season. Aaron gets it now. Why Gute does what he does, and that it always has to be in the best interest of team and not singular players.

I am not saying Cobb is gone, I still say my Top 7 stays, but I was saying it's more possible Cobb goes than Amari, who you asked if I thought is a possible cut. Big no on that.

On the Aaron Rodgers/Gute front, I think the situation is different than what you're saying...

I think Rodgers has always understood that the GM has to do what's best for the team... and understands that most years they have to release the #7 WR


I think their issues was that they had very different ways of ranking guys... Ie, Gute had Kumerow as the #7 WR (buh bye) and Rodgers had him as the #2 WR (probably route running, and adjusting to what Rodgers wanted).

While Gute and Rodgers seem to have a much more open line of communication now, I still think their different ways of ranking guys could be an issue.

Though they might discuss said issue before cutting the roster down now, and resolve the issue (maybe, but maybe not as well).

6 WRs is not a every year thing on the final 53. You are acting like there is some standard of six. I think you are stuck on 6 for this year because that is what he kept last year. It fluctuates. Some years more, some years less. In 2020 when they let Kumerow go, Gute only kept 5 WRs. Tae, Lazard, MVS, EQ, and Malik Taylor.

This year he will be keeping 7(probable)...maybe even 8.😳😏

2021: 6 WRs
2020: 5 WRs

2018: 8* WRs, but Kumerow and Davis where injuries in preseason and go to the IR before ever playing a game, so 6 WRs.
2017: 5** WRs 5 WR plus We Allison was suspended for 1 week, so 6 WRs
2016: 7 WRs
2015: 5 WRs
2014: 5 WRs
2013: 5 WRs
2012: 6 WRs
2011: 5 WRs
2010: 5 WRs

So the only year they kept more than 6 was 2016. Before that was mostly 5 WRs and after that has been mostly 6 WRs.

I very well may be wrong about Gute keeping 7 at least this year, but I will be first to admit I was wrong. I don't think I will be though. Stay tuned...

You better pray Samori Toure really messes up in camp. Cuz if he and Cobbie make it, then it's 7 guaranteed! And you will have to admit you were wrong. It will be the first time I have ever seen you admit it.
