Can't wait to see Tariq Carpenter playing a feature role on the STs coverage units, covering punts and kicks.

The head coach had to assign Tariq a position room, because that is how things work, but no one is expecting to see much of him at ILB this season, unless there are a rash of injuries to the ILBs. Tariq will be on the 53 one hundred percent because of special teams.

Tariq can be a star on special teams, and I am glad the coaching staff has that as his main focus going into the season.

Should Toure make it on the 53 it is because of ST

Tariq Carpenter you could say is a lock for the 53 solely based on special teams, but Toure will have to earn his stripes actually playing WR.

They put him in the ILB room because every player has to have a room. Yes, he will be given the chance to show what he has at both S and ILB during this offseason. He said: "I have played safety my whole life, but I know I am going to play some ILB too." Hopefully he becomes a elite player at one or the other someday.

I'm also glad you think so highly of him that you have him on the depth chart at ILB ahead of Barnes, McDuffie, Summers, Wilborn, Brooks, and others. Oh, but I just am not understanding he is a amazing hybrid LB that is going to be the #2 guy going in when in dime. I guess I will have to accept that I am just not as enlightened as you, and Tariq will be the first man on the field and playing several impactful snaps if Walker goes down. I will for sure keep that in mind if Walker gets injured this season.

Again, I am very much looking forward to the actual reality of his impact on special teams.

I feel like you're clearly and purposely misinterpreting Gute comments to match your own opinion.

Gute think he'll be helpful on STs... that I'm no way means he's thinks the player is a shit burger elsewhere.

I do hope Ford adds some value to the team at some point. I have nothing against him personally, just still a bit confused on him being at 1265 Lombardi.

The Packers situation at WR is about now and the future. If Toure(WR7) is going to make the roster, he is going to have to show the potential of being a high quality WR in GB for years to come. They want to see if he can play. Want to see if he has a future with the Packers at the position.

Romeo, who is WR5 right now is already a lock for the roster. He could be WR2 or 3 by later this summer.

Playing some on teams are possibilities for both players, but won't factor in them making the roster or not.

With a cat like Carpenter, special teams is why he is even in Green Bay. That isn't the case with Toure.

Moving on....

As I said above, I personally use the WR numbers as a starting point pecking order in the room.

You asked for my current top 8, so here you go:

WR1- Lazard
WR2- Watkins
WR3- Watson
WR4- Cobb
WR5- Doubs
WR6- Rodgers
WR7- Toure
WR8- Winfree
