Exactly, which is why the NFL should of brought the draft to Green Bay earlier, before it became a week long event and maybe say for the Packers 100th birthday or something (a great excuse to bring it to Green Bay, and get other teams/fans excited and thinking it should come to their place on their 100th birthday as well). But they missed that...

If they try saying the draft was in Green Bay, but it was only Day 3, that will feel like a bit of an insult to me.

I mean if they do have Day 3 in Green Bay, then great! Just as long as Goodell doesn't try to push the idea that they've crossed Green Bay off their list and never have to do it again.

Though, a great substitute or counter by Murphy might be, to have Day 3 of the Draft every year in Green Bay. That would be a major win, though, I doubt the NFL would go for that.

Either way, I expect them to at least have four media guys and the crew live and in person, even if they switch cities, the rest might be in a studio somewhere.

The NFL draft his heading to Detroit.

NFL owners voted today to award the 2024 NFL draft to Detroit. The event will take place in the downtown area of the city near Ford Field, where the Lions play.

I'm not surprised GB wasn't chosen to host the draft. My hometown doesn't have the facilities and hotel space to hold an event like this.

When the Packers win a championship, how many riots and looting start up?
They should be congratulated, not punished
The NFLA could make it work. Bus the big wigs and fans to and from the surrounding areas from their hotels. The PGA did it so that the Ryder Cup could be held at Whistling straits in little Sheboygan Wisconsin.
I'm just saying it could be done. They just don't want to put forth the extra effort.
JMO of course.

It is not as simple as hotel rooms. They need too many upscale 4-5 star rooms. They need restaurants. A lot of them. More than a few Perkins or Krolls. They need more than overall accommodations than is possible in a small city. They also have to be located within a certain area. People are not going to want to stay in Appleton or Oshkosh. Most of the time I stay in one of those towns for a game. There are plenty of rooms because everyone else is in Green Bay. I am not fussy. I have stayed in Motel 6, Super 8 and la Quinta to name a few.
You can't have it both ways. You can't thump your chest and brag about following a team in the smallest city (By a wide wide wide margin.) and then be upset when the powers that be tell us the city is too small for our network needs.
As far as the PGA event is concerned, I guess that means the NFL draft weekend draws a whole lot more people than a golf outing. Let's face it 20-30,000 people at a golf event is a lot. 150,000 people at a draft is not.

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
